The Apprentice - Series 9

The Girls team could have made that bin seat so much more, what about a pull out shelf that has fold in supports for a desk? that simple addition could have provided something extra for them to go further. As Mr.Jones said I agree with, too many ideas too little direction.

My wife summed it up best. They beat thousands of other business people to get through to the Apprentice and all they could come up with is a bloomin grey box on wheels. With a Lid.

No wonder the economy is in such a state if thats the best of the business crop.

Can you imagine taking that on Dragons Den and asking for an investment of a £100000 for a 5% stake !

:)

If I was on there I would have come up with a TV stand with a nice storage compartment slot at the back to hide all those damn wires.

She wins it for me.

Can't remember quite how it was said but at the start two of the girls were putting make up on and one said "Literally game on". My 11 year old daughter uses "Literally" in the same manner. Literally high power business people???

She is nice, but Luisa Zissman does it for me... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbi...end-sunbathes-topless-series-saucy-snaps.html

some nice pics ;)

So far it's the usual ego car crash TV, which is why we watch it. I prefer to play fantasy Castro sex slave though. If I was going to lock one up for ten years it'd be Luisa, on account of the freaky but hypnotic manga eyes. And if I was going to be locked up for ten years it would be by Rebecca; if you're going to be bossed about it might as well be by someone who does it well.

LOL haha, it's not possible to be more right.

I thought Francesca was looking tasty in this week's ep, also in the You're Fired clips afterwards talking about Sophie. She's like a cross between Stella from previous series and Gemma Atkinson.

As for the box I actually thought the original idea of a cube wasn't that bad on first impression, i.e. different sides for different functions and you flip it round (although quite how many distinct functions you could put on flat, identically sized faces I'm not so sure!).

I've gotta be honest, maybe because am not artistically minded but I am frequently amazed by how 'good'/inventive the products the contestants come up with in such short spaces of time are series after series. I know they get help from professional designers, but if you threw together some bunches of people who barely knew each other and asked them to design and build a new product in a day, how many of those groups would actually get big retail buyers to place an order?

(Of course it isn't a 'true' situation and you don't know what the production team gets up to off camera in terms of helping things along to make good TV, but leaving that to one side as a general concept the idea of doing what they do in that space of time would scare the **** out of me)

That seat was a really good design, i was quite impressed with that. Needed a bit of tweaking, but for the amount of time they had it was very good.

The thing I really didn't get about the box during it's concept stage.. so each surface can perform a different function as you roll it like a dice - while the inside can be used for storage.
What kind of things would you store that can be spun around and not end up all over the place?

Generally speaking this series has been really poor so far, leaving me more cynical about the programme than ever.

Some years they get the balance right - the idiots offset by some reasonably likeable candidates. They're all irritating this year. It's like BB - the first few years were almost like experiments to see how strangers co-habit then they just started picking contestants most likely to cause a fight.

i love watching these idiots try and shred each other at any opportunity. Their sheer stupidity and ineptness (edited together or not) always amazes me.

However this is about a business plan again so regardless of an individuals lack of ability if they have a reasonable plan they will find them self not being fired.

ergo: show is a mockery, all be it entertaining. The classical history student for example.... the guy is just a complete fop =, with no business acumen at all.

So he's probably got a storming idea... Or he'll be voted out mid-season so we have to see plenty of idiocy to prime us for that.

If they use horse meat and sell it as buffalo their margins will be much bigger, missing a trick these guys.

Nick and Karren must have been picked purely for their ability to furrow their brows.

Also mmmmm Luisa's gingham bunches.

Uzma literally did nothing what so ever. LAS should have just failed them for buying the apple juice from the shop before they even bothered looking at the profit they made.

One of the worst episodes in recent memory I thought - boring task, no real drama, correct person got fired.

Miles impressed me this week, correctly observed that jacket potatoes are more of a lunchtime item, people are not going to be buying one on a whim in the morning. Also seemed reasonably slick at sales.

Jason is quite embarrassing - first couple of weeks I gave him the benefit of the doubt but he doesn't have what it takes (unless he has a killer business proposition to offset his weaknesses).

Thought Kurt was coming in for a bit of unfair criticism, maybe he didn't quite hit his predictions but his shakes were turning a profit; ultimately the PM has to carry the can if he puts too many eggs in one basket, it is a bit of a cop out to just take an idea from a member of your team and then blame them if you lose. Had those shakes been backed up by another successful product they could have won.
