I've been given a Nexus 7 to have a look at by a female colleague at work. The only info I could get was her son had 'installed a screensaver and now it wont switch on'

It boots past the 'x' but then hangs on a page that is the license agreement to what I can only assume is the software she is referring to. 'Accept' doesn't do anything, and the page is just frozen.

have tried holding down the down volume button and power on, to go into recovery mode but all I get is the android robot lying on its back with a red exclamation mark and an errror message.

Any ideas?

you have to do a restore mate ...

Well he knows that, hence saying he tried to enter recovery mode. The problem he is having is a bug with said recovery mode, needing the USB cable to be plugged into device and laptop/desktop for it to load into recovery. Other wise, like he said - you just get the !android guy.

A simple operating system wipe and fastory restore-root-new software i wouldn't dream of charging for, just get me a coffee or a pack of smokes and ill teach u how to fix for future whilst ur here..

rotty has deleted a post im no buisness i dont do it for a living or make cash from helping others but i guess thats how ocuk deal with helpful people.
