*STOCK VS OVERCLOCK*

3960X At Stock And 4770K Overclocked

Seems the Intel boards the reviewers got really were holding back Haswell :)

Sorry for so many pics but I just think it's awesome that the 4770K is beating a CPU tripple it's price :)

As already said, this is a troll post.

How the hell is this a troll post, Don't come out with complete rubbish, Got nothing to say other than insulting people then best don't say anything at all.

Erm...

4.7ghz vs 3.3ghz, unfair no?

It is yes, If you read my post I never said otherwise, Just wanted to share this result as I thought it was pretty cool.

Title is misleading

Misleading how exactly ? It beats it and I know the Haswell is clocked higher I just thought it was pretty cool that it beat the 3960x.
In no way did I put "OMG stock v stock it beats it" if I put that then you would have some grounds to say "Misleading post" But you don't.

Because not mentioning the overclock is the same as saying stock.

It's fairly obvious that with Haswell's bump in IPC that it would score a bit better than a 3960X when it's clocked around 50% higher than it.

I'm guessing it's at stock, Still pretty good though that you can buy a chip literally 1/3 of the price and have slightly better performance than the extreme model :)

Not really, who buys an extreme CPU and doesn't overclock it?

My 3960X is at 4.5Ghz 24/7. I'm assuming if it was included in the chart it would smash the 4770K's back doors in :D

Also what was used to cool that Haswell CPU? LN2? My 3960X is cooled by a Antec Kuhler 620 haha.

Sandy-E came out in 2011 and is still the best thing around LOL. Hopefully Broadwell bring some proper performance improvements..

Yeah, no. This is part of the problem. No one buys a 3960X to leave it at stock.

Some might do with a 3930K but not a 3960X, so to say better performance for a third of the cost IS misleading and disingenuous because in such a case, it'll be max OC versus max OC, which could be 5Ghz+ for a 3960X.

Very true but again this is overclock vs stock extreme :)

I would love to see 3960X vs 4770K both overclocked.

I'm bored of Intel tbh. Hoping AMD floor us all and release a decent chip with Steamroller. I would jump on an 8 core SR chip in a second if it was decent. Intel are charging to much for to little performance gain per year.

I guess the flip side is my CPU is still relevant, but I would rather see a big performance jump between generations, so we get better bang for buck..

AMD's APU's are more interesting to me tbh, that's how dull the high end has become lol.

Would be nice I totally agree, Shame really everyone is concentrating on the mobile sector :(

An overclocked 2700K would probably beat a 3960X if clocked high enough. So I don't see it as being interesting at all.

That is the most important line in your OP and is complete crap.
