The Wife is thinking of getting a 620 on O2 in a couple of weeks, when her Current contract (Crappy Galaxy Ace) is up for re-newal...

I've looked ad a lot of info and done my research on what would be a good 'virtually idiot proof' phone (we have Win 8 at home and she actually likes it!!).

I have one question to start things off though 9I may be back with more!! :D )

I have Cerberus on my Nex4 with My Nex7 and her Ace on the account too (It's the only App I've ever paid for!!).

The Question I have is - Is there a Cerberus App for Windows Phone 8 yet??

Cerberus isn't available but Microsoft Offer "My phone" service which allow you to find your phone in a map / call it / lock it and show a message on the screen / or erase data

Hi all,

Recently got this phone to replace my HTC evo 3D (it's digitizer broke when I dropped the phone, although the screen didn't).

Anyway, does anyone know how to set the vibrate intensity/strength for when receiving a call or text? Its currently so weak that I can't tell if someones calling me when its located in my jeans pocket.. Which is really disappointing to me, as I'm a vibrate only user.
(If it can be achieved through installing some 3rd party app or anything I don't mind, just need the phone to do its job).

Apart from that anyway, the phone is more or less flawless. I get slight stutter when opening the menu quickly (I assume it's to do with the ram or to be more precise lack of).

The screen and the camera are very impressive for the cost of the phone (build quality is not bad either, but personally I'm not a fan of the super slippy phone back.. waiting for that nokia case from amazon to see if it clears that up though).

In all, can't go wrong for the price I paid £130.. and its nice to see the windows ecosystem has evolved so much since I had my 710. There's actually apps worth using that aren't all nokia based now!
 
Thinking of getting one of these. A question...

I currently use Dolphin Browser on a HTC Desire and recently tried the Opera browser.

The Dolphin browser remembers the font / zoom size that I wish to use when going from page to page, but the Opera always reverts back to maximum zoom.

How does IE handle this? Any other browsers available?

If you zoom in on a page, then click on a link, the next page will be fully zoomed out, but if you return to the previous page it'll be where you left it.

No idea about other browsers.
 
Noticed on mine for the past few days that the lock button on the side was becoming less responsive, and today it's all but disappeared inside the phone!

the actual button, not the battery cover :( is screwed, only thing is I don't have my o2 receipt, will they take it back and fix it without one?
 
Bought this for my mum just because it was ridiculously good value. Really good phone.

If and when Windows Phone starts approaching (good) app parity with iOS and Android I think I would be quite happy with a high end Lumia.
 
Just ordered one for possibly 104 quid to upgrade from my LG Optimus 7, can't imagine it being as solidly built as the LG but the sat nav software will come in real handy. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good compact car holder?
 
Sim free is expensive get it as a upgrade from cpw, cost me £104 not including cashback. phone is unlocked.

got backlight bleed on mine :p

Has to be sim free. It will be a work phone and they provide a sim card and then money towards a handset.

I've seen it for £199, which makes £104 as an upgrade on a contract look rather expensive tbh...
