Multiplayer trailer looked okay, but not biting this time from trailers only.. Fooled me once with BF3, not happening this time.
Will wait until it's actually out this time, rather than going by trailers. Want to see how it actually is and what lies DICE tell this time, before deciding.

mw has been done to death in last 5 years. so its either futuristic stuff or ww2 .

nicely coreogrphed video - but thats pretty much it. Looks exactly the same as 3 + commander mode. at long ****ing last.
Was gutted that the last trailer wasn't for 2143. 
They're **** scared of changing it too much when the game has been so populasr and they sold so many Premium accounts. It was NEVER going to be a huge, wholesale change.
I'll be buying it no doubt. I quite like the idea of a more vertical battlefield.

Oh grow up. This all sounds so pathetic. Nobody cares who considers themselves the "true core fanbase". BF2 was 7 years ago, 1942 was 11 years ago. People need to get over it and move on. That fanbase is pretty much non-existent and should be left in the past. Yes they were excellent games for their time, ground breaking, but that time has passed. Try playing either of them today and they are truly awful by modern standards.
I will buy BF4; I'll probably enjoy it get my money's worth and then discard it when I'm bored of it. There will be things that annoy me about it, sure, most probably all the other ****heads playing it will infuriate me the most; but I'm not going to start crying about it.
You'll buy it. DG will buy it and Raven will buy it. I'd bet on it. You might even enjoy it. If you don't buy it, who cares? Nobody, that's who. Nobody at all.
If it's crap, so what? There are plenty of other things to do in this world. I've wasted more than £30-40 on other pointless things in the past. I'm sure I'll get over it.

A 60th anniversary D-Day WWII expansion pack/release next year would be amazing. Proper beach landings and night drops etc. I'd definitely buy that. Especially with all the TV programmes and remembrance celebrations in June 2014 it'd be almost foolish not to go down that route. Could be construed as slightly distasteful though I suppose...

look at fps gaming , look at when modern warfare really came into mp and how its been over done in everything .

Firstly, I am not one of the die hard BF 2 etc. fans
, didn't even own the game! I just posted that because, a lot of the true BF 2, 1942, 2142 etc. fans hate BF 3 and even if there are ones who do like it, most of them have said that it isn't as good. So it was simply "replying/correcting" that statement made.Personally I love BC 2, superbly designed maps, amazing destruction, great balance between vehicle and infantry gameplay, more simple and just a lot more fun, less bugs, more teamwork etc.

As I said, unless the core of the game and what annoyed me has been fixed/improved, I definitely won't be buying the game, all these trailers and hype isn't going to win me over this time
I hated BF 3 far too much that there was just no enjoyment whatsoever so if the rest of BF 4 is more or less the same, there is no point buying the game as I will just go through the same frustration again.And I agree with DG, the modern warfare era has been done to death now, it is about time someone does something different.

I have to disagree entirely with your post but mainly on these two points. The reasons being;
- I consider myself a 'hardcore' fan of the series and I love the direction they took with BF3.
- Updated BF2 would have bored me (yes, theres a reason I stopped playing BF2, i was done with it) and this is what people complain about every year with COD, sports games, etc.

Well I think it looks good and what where people expecting 2 years after the release of BF3, its kind of hard to tell from the low res vid but there appears to be better smoke and dust effects, particle and explosion effects look awesome making your vision impaired and hard to make out things in the distance as you imagine it would be in the heat of battle, streets look a lot busier and less empty paper etc floating around. I think some of you need to go back and look at some of the low textures and poor effects of BF3.
BF 3.5, maybe, I’ll still be buying and I bet 99% of the people slating on here will be too.

Okay so having had a chance to look at the official MP video:
- Counter knife kills FTW!
- Speed-boat action looks fun
- Very similar look and feel to BF3. Totally agree with the BF3.5 comments....but on the bright side, no rig upgrade necessary
- Map design look good
- Potential use of more damage...fingers crossed its not all scripted
Let the MP videos keep coming! So far I am more positive than I thought I would be - roll on more information!

Looks good in the trailer; I know it's nothing to do with the gameplay and just for trailer purposes but it was kinda stupid how scripted the trailer was, e.g the helicopter coming up the building, and not shooting, then just after that all the enemies running out, still not shooting

If they brought out any new expansions, people would complain. So they are releasing a new game... and people complain. Can't win.
They've updated their game engine to Frostbite 3, so a new game is needed. Why bother making a new game, and then porting BF3 over to it so it's compatible, and splitting it into 3 different expansions, when you could just make BF4.
BFBC 2 Vietnam was set in a different era, so of course you're going to get more of a change with that.
