iRacing

Well this next build it will be a full year since the L49 went up on pre-order so ill believe it when I see it in my garage but I so want to drive this car please Iracing don't screw it up after all the delays it should be awesome car.
 
Just bagged myself a G25 for £75 almost brand new. Big step up from the poxy xbox sucker mounted wheel I have now. Collect tomorrow :)

Waiting for a active MDP->VGA adapter to enable all 3 screens and with SoftTH I should have a nice 3 screen setup ready to go and play :)

Oh I can see this costing more and more :) Really into the Ovals :)

Wife already not happy :)

Do you get iRacing points for Novice Oval ?

Also is there a club for OC and can a complete novice such as myself be allowed to join ?

I'd assume so. Don't fully understand it myself yet tbh, I've only done a few mazda cup races. Not really into oval, but you can add me if you want for some rookie races - email in my trust.

If you are talking about the rookie oval series in stock cars then yes you get iRating and safety loss. As you are on a rookie red licence when starting out you can't see your irating but get to see it when you move up to the D class licence.

If you like oval and fancy faster races check out the Carburetor Cup. You only need to buy one car and two tracks as it only rotates between 3 tracks. All the races in it are unofficial so if you crash you suffer no safety loss and you don't gain or lose irating. It's good fun having a blast on that knowing that if someone crashes into you ruining your race at least you don't suffer for it. Plus the Chevy Gen 6 stock cars are awesomely fast!

They really shot themselves in the foot with the lotus 49 though didn't they.

It was up on pre-order 12 months ago then they took it down because they found a bug and im just guessing here but I think the way the l49 drives showed up flaws in the tyre model so it was withdrawn and those that pre-ordered got a refund.

I have no problem with the above and it was nice they will give the car for free to those that pre-ordered.

What they then do before every new build is due is show video of the l49 and include its race schedule not once but every new build and it makes me like a kid at Xmas all excited then santa doesn't show lol.

If the car is not ready then that's ok don't show videos and give race list every new build we will wait np but its the constant showing of video and the race list getting us all excited and then no lotus build after build.

If they don't deliver this next build after saying it will be out before the new build expect a **** storm on the forums like never before.

The G25 is a good wheel, you'll love it once you get to grips with it.


I feel like we should all have a little practice and race together at some point. Maybe next weekend.
