New brake discs warped???

How did you get on Gaygle? I came across a site called skimmydiscs.co.uk which i'm ringing around a few of the garages it lists for pricing on disc skim's, the site suggests that fitting new discs will only cure the vibrating problem for a few k which is exactly what it did for me. I'm 99% sure its not a caliper problem on mine as i've checked them out and the pistons arent marked at all, the seals look in perfect condition and they both move very freely

i dont think its the discs. i bet if you put a set of ate or textar pads on it would go away, the problem will be the pads leaving deposits on the discs

All pads leave deposits on the discs. It's when the deposits are uneven that problems can start, and this can be as much due to the disc as the pad (e.g. areas of differing grain within the cast iron)

Its interesting how it effects so many people with pagid discs/pads. If i had the motivation to buy another set of pads half way through the current pad's life cycles id give it a go to try and prove my theory right

My old M3 has a set of new looking ATE pads on there and that car gets thrashed pretty damn hard, no braking issues at all

TBC. Cancelled my original appointment because i thought it'd gone away but it hadn't. Only really happens above 70mph when the discs are warm so i thought i could live with it. But this week the curiosity got the better of me and i thought "why should i live with it" and i rebooked the appointment with the BMW specialist guy who will look at the bushes, calipers, discs and pads to try and get to the bottom of it.

Appointment is on Monday - will update then with any results.

I have pagid discs/pads on the front of my Golf, been there for 30k miles now, maybe more

From day one they juddered when used hard. Nowadays the car only gets thrashed once in a blue moon, but as soon as you thrash it the juddering comes back.

I think its down to pagid components not being as good as theyd like you to beleive

Or you didn't fully clean the hub surface, or your calipers sticks, or you didn't bed the pads in correctly.

A good workman never.....

ive had it off and in bits many many times, never been able to cure it. the worn out old items didnt judder at all, its the parts

Have you just ordered a set of front pads then brad?

Yeah, for the sake of £26 I thought id give it a go, I have a feeling it is my front right disc tbh, but will pick them up on my way to work and change them at lunchtime, im getting pretty quick at doing it now lol

£26 is a little cheap for front pads, even eicher ones. You sure you picked the right ones in ECP? There are two front pads from eicher, the 335i needs the ones up for £53 (part no. 101110611) not the ones up for £35 something.

hmmm, I just typed in my reg number and brought them up, you got me thinking if I ordered the correct ones to begin with?? mines a 330d with 330mm discs, not sure if the 335i is the same?

after checking with the part number on realoem the sizes match up so I guess there the right ones, maybe the 335 is slightly bigger again than the 330?
