Cheers.

The rain jacket doesn't look to be what I've got in mind. That looks to be a full on rain jacket, not something you can just pull out of your pocket when it starts to rain.

The rain jacket is actually packable. I carry it in a jersey rear pocket whenever there's a hint of rain and it's proved 100% water proof in some torrential down pours so far as well as being pretty breathable and a good cycling fit.

Well my bike is pretty much ready for my Majorca trip.

New bottom bracket fitted and I replaced the cable inners, outers and bar tape last night.

Turns out the new headset I bought at the end of January is in need of new bearings. The bottom sealed bearing has rusted and come apart alrerady. How does water get into these things??? Its not as though I've really been riding in wet conditions. I've decided to just grease it up and deal with if after the trip.

Is that the £190 one or the £75 spray jacket? ill be looking for one in a few months

Anyone recommend some decent grease for my BB? Gonna give it a full service this weekend.
Just white lithium grease is fine, same stuff you pack car wheel bearings etc with. You don't need to put anything exotic in the BB.

For cleaning it out, a colleague at work has been singing the praises of paraffin. It's as light as petrol, so degreases as effectively, but doesn't evaporate anywhere near as quickly, so it's a bit more workable. I think you can get it in most hardware shops.

I've got some teflon grease for my brake cables, will probably use that then. And I've got loads of degreaser but paraffin is an interesting idea.

What the actual f. One puncture in 14 years?

That's nothing to do with tyre choice, that's your parents selling their souls to Satan in return for keeping the fairy off your back.

I thought I was doing well with five in three years. Then again, I think oddjob62 rides less than 500km a year, so it's actually not all that impressive ;)

Oops! Sorry... edit made :p 4 years not 14.
Still not bad.

Oh and Saundie... my 1000km Junedoggle badge says you're wrong on your figures there :p

I'd preferably have a white stripe to go with my deda stem but I got this off ebay cheap. Brand new with k;ium rails. I'd also not realised how long they were til I fitted it aha.

Slowly upgrading my bike. Only an allez on sora groupset. Although my Sram red/force stash is slowly growing. :)

Edit; Recommendations for a jersey/jacket? I'm having to use that pack thing to carry my phone to use strava. :(
