Sleeping dogs a decent game then? Need something to fill the hole Mafia II left!

It's a great game, highly polished, very stylish. Similar to GTA and Saint's in the sense that it's an open city, lots of side quests etc. I've got 23 hours clocked in it without even touching the DLC which is meant to be decent.

Guys, you're not playing it right! You have to do it the way I say!

Are you intimidated by playing against others, does it make you feel inadequate? Somebody spoke about the AI being overpowered or something, the solution would be to play online.

Umm I do, as some people only have time to jump on for 10-15 minutes at a time.

Fair enough, I suppose the A.I. in racing games is actually quite good compared to other genres.

Who buys a racing game to race A.I.? Race other people, then your issue is non existent.

I've bought a lot of racing games and haven't played one online in over 10 years (Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2) :)

I can see the attraction but I think I would get too frustrated at not being competitive and when I read threads I see people moaning about bad driving from other people causing accidents etc and it just seems like a lot of stress I don't need.

Maybe I should play online more, even on hardest settings in DiRT3 etc on rally stages I'm like 8s ahead at times.

Depends what game you play, on Forza then yeah that's gonna happen a lot. :p Some people would go full speed into your rear end on a corner and hope they recovered faster than you to overtake you. But it all depends on the community, you can play a game like Race 07 and accidents only ever happen by accident and they're quite rare. :)

Exactly :p very few racers offer A.I. worth racing, you'd might as well be doing time trials with some cars on the track that occasionally get in your way. :p

Not that it matters, but I do play online. Re-read my comment and try again.

Not sure what I'm supposed to be trying again, I think you need to go back and retry whatever it was you attempted to do.

The thing is it works both ways, it's not just me getting frustrated with bad driving it would be me not wanting to take flak from others for doing it myself.

E.g. the start/first bend at Monza, unless I'm at the front of the grid there's a good chance I'll try to overtake some cars under braking but in the majority of games that's an extremely dangerous situation because you have a massive high speed straight followed by a chicane, I could easily hit other cars there.

Depends on the game engine of course, some would penalise you, some would damage your car, some would send you spinning out, others would just have you bouncing off and carrying on regardless so there is no consistency until you've learnt how a particular game handles collisions.

Steam just refunded my metro last light pre-order, that has been the most buggy, crash happy piece of **** I've ever bought since steam founded. Due to that, need to use my steam store credit of £31.49 on something else, so any recommendations?

How can you know, it's a preorder?

Any news on when the Steam Summer Sale will be on, so I can buy lots more cheap games I won't get around to playing? :)

Edit : No matter - Just saw this question has it's own thread
