Oh how excellent Samba...:D

QPR defender Christopher Samba will make a shock return to Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala for a fee of £12m, Sky sources understand.
The defender is one of relegated Rangers' highest earners but the club are set to recoup most of the transfer fee they paid for his services in January.
Djibril Cisse has already left Loftus Road as Harry Redknapp reshapes his squad for the Championship, with further high-profile names such as Loic Remy expected to follow.
More to follow.

Well at least the difference this year is that we are making offers for people, some are cheap offers and to be laughed at but at least we are actually putting money on the table.

True but we should have sealed the Higuain deal by now, its been raging on for the past few weeks. Dont understand what the hold up is unless Arsenal have gone cold on him or perhaps Real want to keep him and have plans for him.

So far we have signed some unknown french kid on a free, which is great but it wont make us trophy contenders.

Its getting a bit depressing, sure we are being linked with a few players but the reality of them coming is pretty slim. I dont honestly see the point of making offers and stupid offers at that for players because these days players and teams wont sell or move unless its worth their time and effort.

Anyhow lol@QPR and Samba, £12mill back to Anzhi...dodgy 'Arry at his very very best there.

.. seeing as Spurs have signed Paulinho who imho looks to be a good player. Done very well for Brazil in the Confed cup so Spurs have signed a good player, whether or not he is any good in the EPL is another thing entirely.
.

I've been quizzing as to why he may have chosen Spurs.. Maybe your point is valid.. Maybe it was felt that joining a club that was also involved in CL football would be just too much.. Then again it didn't stop Barca with Naymar... I'm just guessing though.

£19m bid for bender rejected apparently according to todays telegraph. wenger concerned arteta is your only holding mid.

**** me what is going on with spurs?! the soldado and villa rumours have been around for a few weeks now. don't tell me levy is actually gonna dip into his pocket again??!

only thing that concerns me slightly over soldado and villa are their ages. zero sell on value but proven strikers who would give us a pretty immense strike force.

yep. looking very good. dembele is massively important to spurs imo and sandro still not fit so expect to see him partner paulinho.

we still need a left back imo. i'd like to see holtby pushed through and sig needs to make his mind up what kind of player he actually wants to be. i'd like to see if either could actually be a playmaker.

A midfield 3 of Dembele - Paulinho - Sandro has the potential to be rather intimidating to say the least. Assuming they 'gel' well together and what have you.

this is a very good point. from the little i have seen of paulinho, he does look like what we need with his drive at both ends of the field but i do wonder if him and dembele may clash when it comes to pushing forward.

That's all good though isn't it, does Sandro ever venture forward? That midfield 3 is looking very promising, i'd never heard of that Paulinho until recently. Scored a few goals in the confederations cup, he looks promising. Tbh, the whole set up at Spurs is shaping up, Bale, Lennon and Villa up front....ooooph!!

That's some considerable arguing you are doing there!!!

To be fair, there is a dearth of good CMs in the league. Carrick was excellent last year admittedly, Arteta is solid but unspectacular, and Wilshere could be class but spends most of his time with the physio. Dembele is a very, very good player.
