Its in the basket... ready to go...

As others have done, get rid of the haf-x,ok case but the styling will bug you after a few weeks, get a corsair 500r or the c70 as someone else has said.

OK OK... Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that. I quite like the Haf case and its styling.

Win 7 - Win 8. Obviously a point of debate. I have only ever used Win 7, so I can't compare it to 8. What is the matter with 8 then?

Ethermaster... thanks for the spec list. Isn't you memory you have listed a bit slower? (not that it really matters)

The PSU was on offer. I and I figured more is better than less - as I will probably crossfire the system at a later date.

Couple of points... This will be connected to my 55" Samsung LED TV via HDMI lead. Is that going to give me the full quality image out of this system?

Overclocking... never done it. Err... how and what? Is it a matter of playing around (carefully) in the Bios, or is it a lot simpler than that?

plus side to this build it qualifies for this offer if within 03/07/2013 - 31/07/2013

Well you can't stay ahead of the game for very long.
I think its a pretty good spec. Think I should be able to run games on some reasonably high settings and also be able to use my video editing suite more effectively

I am not buying parts just cause they look pretty!
What is the difference between the Gigabyte motherboard I originally picked and the one above? Is it just crossfire support?

Other thought.... are fan controllers just a gimmick? I am assuming that if you don't have a front mounted fan controller, then the fans run off the PSU or motherboard and you have no control over speed (and therefore noise)

I'm just kidding :)

Yeah, pretty much xfire support.
Fan controllers aren't a gimmick at all.
You can run fans off your mobo and control them using suitable software and/or PWM control via bios settings. Fan Xpert 2 software on the Asus board is quality. I'm not sure about Gigabyte's alternative tbh.
