Thoughts on this? A lot of people commenting on channel 4's latest facebook post saying they will boycott the channel if this goes ahead. I really don't see what all the fuss is about but it's rustled a lot of jimmies.

The same channel that broadcasts the alternative Queens speech. They've always been right-on lefties, leave them to there own sillyness

Channel 4 trolling all the bigots.

What are Channel 4 showing that early in the morning anyway? I doubt it's displacing anything.

Don't see a massive issue.... I've got a mosque alarm clock so wake up to the call to prayer every morning - basically its irritating as **** and means I pretty much have to get out of bed and thump the alarm clock.

As for the channel 4 thing - blatant publicity stunt... the likes of the EDL will get comically wound up about this (channel 4 implementing sharia law, muslimic ray guns etc..), will generate plenty of pointless debate from various talking heads, lots of waffle in newspaper columns.

haha, I read this at about 5am this morning and I bet my wife that someone would start a thread on it before we went to bed tonight, she said that no one would bother with something so trivial......cheers to the OP, I now have a favour logged in the Bank of Wife.

As for what I think...Channel 4 doing something controversial simply because it is controversial, which is pretty much what Channel 4 does. If you don't want to be called to prayer...watch the BBC or ITV instead.

I don't have an issue with it, other than the fact that it seems strange that they have decided to specifically cater to the religion of Islam and their holiday.

By that I mean that I don't really see Channel 4 doing much to cater for other religions in their programming. Yes, Christmas is a Christian holiday, but does 'Xmas Specials' of regular programming really count as the same?

Morning call to prayer should be just before and at dawn yes?
Its a summer month, so 4am for the broadcast?
I doubt it'll effect my life too much, but a good Muslim won't be watched, they'll be nipping down the mosque for a prayer won't they? After a good feed before the sun comes up.
