I've not been abroad for a while, Myself and the girlfriend will be traveling to Ibiza in a few weeks time.

My bank covers my travel insurance but my girlfriend needs some.

Is it simply a case of going on travel insurance comparison websites and picking the cheapest or should you stick to well known companies etc?

Many thanks

You normally have it free with a bank account (or possibly included in your bens at work?)

...I dont think it covers getting wasted though

Travel insurance within Europe is not expensive anyway, especially if you don't need skiing cover or the extreme sports cover, so I would read the small prints and see what each one covers and get the one with most coverage, even if it costs a couple of quid more.

Gnu seemed good for my travels. Covered my kit and it was fairly good value as well. All done within minutes online. Extreme sports included on my Finland trip was around £30 or something I can't remember. It was so low I didn't even glance twice, just checked paperwork and signed up.

Definitely read the small print and terms, plus the excesses.

Even the more premium policies will only be a few quid more if she's not old with medical conditions, last thing i'd do would be to skimp on a few quid when it involves anyones health.

I went with Virgin when skiing over Christmas, and had to claim when I did my knee ligaments and was carried off the mountain. They were excellent, in contact frequently letting me know what I needed to do, what treatment I could claim for etc, and then I received a cheque pretty promptly after claiming.
