Newcastle pull out of race for Kone :D

So is it Joe or pards that will be getting out the old "could not get them over the line" phase?

It's funny; Arsenal are signing who Spurs should be signing and Spurs are signing who Arsenal should be signing.

Spurs need Higuain more than Paulinho and Arsenal need Paulinho a lot more than they need Higuain.

Madness

Dunno there's not much between the Barndoor/Defoe combo and the Giroud/well no one

I think both sides are in need of a good striker, Arsenal getting one and Spurs not will just widen the gap between the two

Why? We have been dying for a top class striker to put the ball in the net and with a conversion rate of nearly 40% we could hardly ask for better. We dont need another creative midfielder.

Got to be an upgrade on Giroud, his chance conversion rate is embarrassing.

A bit like Welbecks.

Giroud, Walcott, Vela, Podolski and AOC

Defensive midfielders; Frimpong, Ramsey (?) and Arteta.

With that squad, I would want a solid holding midfielder or a box to box midfielder rather than a striker.

I am not saying Paulinho wont be good for Spurs and Higuain good for Arsenal. Rather the prioritisation is wrong.

Vela is not at Arsenal any more. Giroud and Podolski will probably get at best 25 goals in a season between them. Walcott and AOC are not strikers.

We definetly do need an out and out striker. Some one who can score vital goals in the big matches.

The point is none of those players you listed strike fear in to the big boys.

higuain sounds like a good signing for arsenal. 4 yr deal too app rather than the rumoured 3?

they can have parker if they want. qpr are after him for £2m but i doubt he'd want to leave the prem.

madrid reportedly given up on signing bale. villa will be done mid month methinks. get soldado too and we'll be right up amogst it.

Got a feeling he's in it for one last pay day. If he is fired up he will be useful. Guess just got to wait and see on this one. Hope i'm wrong of course.

Tottenham have ended their interest in Internacional striker Leandro Damiao and Southampton are stepping up their attempts to sign him instead.

Spurs have been chasing the Brazil international for the past two years, but have grown frustrated during negotiations with Internacional and are now looking elsewhere for a forward.

They are close to securing a deal for Barcelona striker David Villa and hope to partly fund the transfer by selling Emmanuel Adebayor to Turkish side Besiktas.

Internacional continue to demand £21m for Damiao and his agent Jorge Machado claims a Premier League club, which is believed to be Southampton, are in negotiations over a deal.

He said: ‘There is a club interested. We have been talking with Internacional for many days, but we have to wait.
‘Inter have set a value, which is very significant, so we need to have more talks.’

Besiktas are still hopeful of signing Adebayor, who is no longer wanted at White Hart Lane despite joining from Manchester City for £5m just one year ago.

Board member of the Turkish club, Ahmet Kavalci, said: “We are definitely interested in him and have made an offer. Adebayor currently wants more than what we were hoping however, talks are ongoing.”
