I didn't see us outclass every other team in the league. I saw RvP scoring a number of goals that very few strikers would have pulled off. I saw a distinct lack of form from any direct competitors and I also won't place too much emphasis on being able to nearly beat RM over two games.

We are not a bad side. We are a very good side but that is no longer enough to win the top trophies and I doubt it will be good enough to win the league without some serious re-enforcements.

You hit the nail on the head there. Think United to need to strenghten midfield badly. The midfield is just average and RVP covered most of the cracks in the team. The defence was much better in 2nd half of the season.

The midfield is just getting worse as well, Scholes gone, Giggs getting older, and is Anderson leaving? At the moment it's basically Carrick and Cleverley....and Jones. Powell seems to be heading out on loan.

Moyes says they're working hard though so I'm confident we'll reinforce, just hope that it's someone of real quality.

Nowhere have I said we are **** but in football you play against opposition and if they are stronger than you and player better football, you probably won't win.

You may as well have, you're talking like not signing Thiago is going to see all number of clubs over take us which is complete and utter rubbish. We've more than matched both City and Chelsea the last couple of years the only reason why that may change next season is due to the managers involved now

In all fairness, last season you were the best of a very poor league. Chelsea, Arsenal, and City are all strengthening. Liverpool and Spurs are too, although I'd still expect both to be a ways off. You need to strengthen. The league will not be won by such a weak team again.

As above I only see Chelsea improving in the managerial position, City maybe likewise. Arsenal have done nothing and all Spurs have done is added another midfielder rather than the striker they've needed for about 2 years.

We did not even remotely outclass any team last season, it was one of the worst performances I've seen from a united squad. We'd have 15-20 minutes a game where we'd play well, the rest was us floundering around. It was moments from RVP that literally saved us face a lot of the time.

Painting over the **** stain with the premier league title doesn't change a thing. The previous year was quite funny too, molested in Europe. This year, we weren't much better, real were poor this season remember! So you're quite ridiculous when you claim 'we almost beat real over 2 games'. We should be aspiring to be a top team, playing great football, I'm not settling for ***** performances and scraping through because 'we still won blah'.

I may as well have said we are **** because I said that without serious strengthening we will not be winning competitions of note next year. That says everything I need to know about you Tom.

Have you missed the fact that Chelsea had a number of new young players in their team and an interim manager last year and still played much much better football than us. They have also strengthened again and added a much better manager. City had a mare of a season and still played better football than us and that was after arguably weakening their side from the previous season. They are strengthening again and have a decent manager.

Please enlighten us Tom. How on earth do you think that we are going to be the best team in the league unless we strengthen considerably. So far we have lost Scholes, look like losing Nani and Anderson and have brought in Zaha.

I'd expect Chelsea to get a top striker, which is just about all they need. City have already got Fernandinho and Navas. If Arsenal get a striker and a midfielder they'll challenge.

Your team was no better last year than Chelsea's and City's, and marginally better than Arsenal's. You won the league through Ferguson's ability, and that is now gone.

Has he actually improved over the past few seasons. I remember he showed good potential early in his united career but is he actually worth keeping? I haven't really seen him play that much as there's not much point for me worrying about what United are doing these past few seasons :o

Maybe that's Anderson's problem?

:D

I don't think we'll be the best side in the league next season nor do I think signing Thiago would change that and that's the difference between me and a lot of you I'm not going menstrual over that possibility.

He usually plays a few games (60 minutes) then disappears for a few months. I'm not sure if it is constant injury but he has very little discipline and tends to unbalance the side. Against opposition that are playing poorly or are demoralised he can be fantastic but thats not exactly what you need from a central midfield player week in week out.

I am looking forward to seeing which players get a run in the team under Moyes because Fergie had his obvious favourites that he would play over everyone else regardless of the options.
