Trayvon Martin: George Zimmerman Acquitted

The right result based on the evidence I heard, despite the establishment's best efforts to pervert the course of justice. Meanwhile in Chicago, over 200 Trayvon's have died this year so far. Wonder why no-one gives a damn about them...

Probably a number of reasons, that they're (assuming) black on black crime which doesn't get half the attention, that if they were reported they didn't have exaggerated claims about how white and racist the killer was and how young and innocent the victim was. I'd say the biggest difference though is the media campaign that Trayvon's parents started and obviously having the president talk about it carries a lot of weight.

Just watched some Fox News and they are talking about this being a White / Black issue.....which is a bit odd as (and thankfully one commentator did point out) that in any other situation Zimmerman would be called Hispanic.

Gotta love Fox News and their sensationalist style of reporting...

Why has this been played out as a race case? Zimmerman isn't white either and comes from a persecuted minority too. Why has this race element come into it?

I doubt Obama needs the Trayvon case to get noticed somehow......

So you've not been following US news then.

Just read the article on the bbc website. Obama :- if I had a son he would look like trayvon  weird thing to say. I'm sure if he had a son he would look a bit different.

Most of the press are now asking if Obama will call zimmerman to say sorry.

CNN called him a "white Hispanic" then people were calling in saying they are racist and they was right

by his own admission Zimmerman approached Trayvon

No that's the complete opposite of his admission. He said he was walking back to his truck when Martin approached him and said "You got a problem? Well you do now." And then proceeded to attack Zimmerman.

When don't know exactly what happened, but Zimmerman had the injuries, and Martin didn't, suggesting that Martin did attack Zimmerman.

Never let the facts get in the way of a good race hate story.

That doesn't mean that Obama needs the Trayvon/Zimmerman case to get noticed as the previous poster said though. I suspect that most people know exactly who Barak Obama is, given that he is the President of the United States and all....

I just hope they follow through and sack the judge or make her retire asap as she broke the law in her own court.

I watched it for 2 weeks you could see it was a setup from the start.

You said he needs him not me. I said

It's a fact that during a meeting about banks one of Obama staff came out with that silly question.
And then Obama stupidly came out with a stupid answer.

He got himself involved when he should have kept out of it and it's hurting him. Come Jed time to take to the stage ;)

I am still amazed it went to court really. if Zimmerman had been black, or martin not black, I don't think it would have done given the nature of the case and the obvious defence of self defence.

given the evidence out forward, I don't see how any other verdict could have been reached beyond reasonable doubt.

I've known a guy to whack himself in the face with a brick just to get his cousin to beat someone up.....

I'm sure plenty of people would happily injure themselves to plead self defence
