Ah yes, sorry I was talking about players we actually need rather than just silly signings

Crespo
Schevchenko
Zola
Ballack
Torres
Overmars
Pires
Van Nistle Horse
Bergkamp
Aguero
Yaya Toure
Veron
I would say only Yaya Toure was possibly world class when they came over here, and I can't remember any of them being chased by other bigs teams at the time they signed.
They were all world class before they came here... With the possible exception of a few that I can't remember, being Overmars, Pires and Van Nistelrooy

Were they ********, if yuo beleive that your definition of world class must be really low.
I would be amazed and massively disappointed if Cesc went to Man United.

Bergkamp was incredible when he went to Arsenal, as was Overmars. Torres burst onto the scene at Liverpool. In his first couple of seasons there he was the best in the world, implying that he was world class when he went there. Sheva never played well at Chelsea, but when he went there he was world class. You could argue the same for Crespo. Ballack was one of the best around when he went to Chelsea as well.
Just because they weren't chased by any of the big teams, it doesn't mean they're not world class.
Only Real Madrid chased Ronaldo. Must mean he wasn't world class when he went there.![]()
Never said that, guess reading isnt a strong point for you. oh andback at you.

Then why is the latter half of the above relevant?
..Thinking on it, I can't remember the alst time a EPL club beat off a 'big' team ffrom another league for a big signing.
Are we having an argument about what world class means again? An entirely subjective term?

Ahh, so the argument isn't that world class talent doesn't come to England, but that it doesn't come if other big clubs want it?
