Never play ranked at

A) School Holidays
B) The Weekend.

The quality of players and maturity drops dramatically. There's also far more people called ridulous stuff like XxXDAKILLAHXxX :p

sir, i have found this out to my peril! in the space of a week ive gone from 97LP down to 0, through the dramatic drop in quailty of players who lack any gaming sense whatsoever

made that mistake too i try to play a game before work calibre is usually better too.

Weekends so hit and miss :/

Was playing ranked last night!

Won 4 out of my 5 games, won my first promo match, lost the second and during the third match we were winning fairly hard then all of a sudden everyone gets massive lag, we're all level 1 and can't use spells, but somehow with a 3 second delay between any action we manage to get an inhibitor, then another inhib, apparently the whole server had this issue last night, ohwell i won my promo series to silver 2 (finally) got rid of my disconnection and client crashing problems, deleted pando media boost and disabled IP helper.

Lost promo again, first game had an afk and second one had someone threatening the whole time but luckily didnt but still lost both. If you try enough times youre bound to get up once i presume lol

If theres a skin you can choose in the game but its no longer in the store, does that mean you'll never be able to buy it again or do they come back into the store from time to time?

Quite fancied red baron corki after seeing it in a stream

It's a mixture of both, some skins are gone forever and some come back every now and again usually during seasonal events like Halloween or Christmas. In the case of Red Baron Corki I believe it is now a legacy skin so will never return.

I just want underworld twisted fate to be re released at halloween and i'll be happy, i missed it as it was during my 5 month LoL break before i came back :)

Can someone answer a bit of a general query regarding supports.

Id quite like to learn support properly and looking at sona and janna in particular but dont get a fundemental part of it. If you look on the likes of lolpro supports pretty much get the same stuff, youve got your sightstone then the likes of shurelyas reverie, mikaels crucible and locket of the iron solari. The latter three just really give you real good regen but surely youre missing the AP that you would get with the midlaners so although youve got a lot of mana and it regens quickly, all your spells do next to nothing due to having such low AP.

Last game i had janna and had her shield but it was so miniscule it almost seemed to be not worth the bother.

Also would a tear not be a good buy for support to make sure she has plenty mana? Never sen it on any the builds ive seen.

Another quick question, i came across an item the other day though cant remember the name but basically after 3 levels the item disappeared and the effects were now permanent. Id have thought with something like that which would give a permanent effect and then free the slot back up, loads would get it but never seen one person. Is there a reason that im missing?

Thanks

Had to go on and play a ranked the other day as I was a day away from dropping a division I think due to inactivity... I must admit I made some of the best plays I've ever done as Lee Sin (also made a few horrific mistakes) but the whole team were bad so I lost... Better than going down another division though!

Need to get that Udyr skin and start playing Udyr top again :D

Supports can't afford AP items

A support with sightstone, aegis and locket is much more useful than a support with just a deathcap. You just don't notice the effects much because the power mostly comes from auras and such. AP items just aren't good on support anyway. AP Lulu and Janna are both good, but only if you have solo lane farm. A support with no gold building full AP just isn't going to do anything.

Tear is a waste of money really because it doesn't build into anything useful for supports. Out of all the supports I'd say Sona needs the most regen, which is why a lot of people build chalice on her. Chalice is a better choice than tear.

I'm not at level 30 yet but play support 90percent of the time so hope can help with some of these.

As support, your main role is to 'support' your ADC. You want the ADC to get the kills and the farm so they can get fed and really do some damage in the team fights late game.

Because you're giving up the farm from creeps and kills you are going to gold starved so items like the Philosophers stone are great on a support. You get the gold per 10 to help a little with income and you get sustain from the regen it gives allowing you to stay in lane longer.

As you are being gold starved the chances of being able to build a high AD or AP build are slim to none so you are better off buying items like the Aegis, Locket etc. which provide buffs your allies in teamfights etc.

Reason you see champs labelled as support is because of their skills, usually centered around heals, shields, slows and stuns in aide of keeping your ADC alive and securing kills for them.

Regards to the last 3 items, they all offer active uses which can benefit the rest of your team where the tear only benefits you.

Support is mostly about the effect from the skills not the damage they inflict. Sona does have great early game poke with the power chord but that falls off later on and your team fight potential is mostly down to cycling your aura's, throwing down the 'damage reduction' power chord on someone going all-in or throwing down the 'slow' power chord on someone trying to get away. And of course the Crescendo which can be the difference between an ace and a botched team fight, even if it causes hardly any damage.

Fiddlesticks support is a strange one because his ult is so potent for damage.
