Moyes: "As far as players we're looking to bring in, we're trying very hard to make some additions to the squad."

David Moyes on Cesc Fabregas: "I may have a bit more information in the next day or so about how it's going."

He clearly hasn't seen Welbeck seems to be a starter for England :p

If Welbeck can get in the England squad then Rooney could be dead and still be an auto pick.

Daily Fail reporting that Arsenal have given Wenger a green light to bid 40M for Suarez.

If he leaves us id much rather it be abroad than to another prem team.

still think 40m is short of the mark

it is ;)

Edit - Might have been the Liverpool Echo yesterday but there are quotes from Liverpool confirming it will take Cavani money for us to accept.

2nd Edit: It was and from BR.

"It was an offer for what they (Arsenal) considered his value and worth. Obviously for a player of his quality, when you consider that Cavani has gone for £55million you know… Luis is up there in that bracket of top talent"
&
“Obviously it was an offer we didn’t deem worthy of the talent and even if they came back with that kind of amount (£55million) there’s no guarantee he would be sold even for that because we are trying to build something here."

I hope arsenal spend all their money on Suarez so when Wenger gets the call from barce saying they have accepted a bid from united for cesc , Wenger will have to go and take a trip to cash converters

I think Liverpool would be mad not to sell him for 40 million considering his history and the fact he missed 6 games of the season. It still seems a bit odd that Arsenal are bidding for him, especially for the amounts mentioned.

Can I just say I just read this and I feel ill.

David moyes: 'when I arrived I was told how important Danny (welbeck) had been and how important he will be' ...

Like I said dm is a patsy. He is being dictated to who is good and who is bad. This is why6we needed a new strong manager to make his own mind up .

at the same time we are trying to refuse to sell Rooney even if he hands a request in.

and we are still trying to sign fabregas

Except for Cavani being overpriced and PSG willing to splash the cash. In addition Suarez has only had one very good season here (30 goals in all competitions), cavani has had 3 seasons of 33+ goals and doesn't come with the excess baggage.

Regardless Liverpool are entitled to accept what they want but if a 40m offer came in I think it would pretty daft not to strongly consider it as I doubt many will go above that.

Never ever read too much into what managers say about under fire players Nick. They are not going to say "I know Fergie liked Welbeck but did you see what he did last match!".

Welbeck is not a bad player. He has the potential to be very good but whether he will ever develop to that point is another matter. Plenty of good managers and players have praised welbeck over the past few seasons so they must see something about him.

Ben Arfa links to Liverpool makes me chuckle. He said multiple times he does not want to leave because the way his injury was handled by the club and wants to repay the faith.

So will take a bloody great big transfer fee to make newcastle force him out. Can see Liverpool bending over the table again for this one to even have a chance of happening.

No he really does not have the potential, I can think of less than a handfull of usefull actions he has done, the amount of game time he gets is just pathetic.

What are you basing this information on - please provide a quote or some form of information rather than your daft opinion?

Moyes is also hopeful that Danny Welbeck will rediscover his scoring touch. "When I arrived I was told how important Danny had been and how important he will be," said Moyes. "We're giving him an opportunity now and he has the chance to get some games. It would be worse if he wasn't getting chances. Hopefully he'll start taking a few of those chances and that will give him the confidence to go on a run and score a few goals."

Fabregas probably wouldn't go back to Arsenal anyway and you'd have to question his and Suarez ambition if they chose to go to Arsenal. The height of their season is just about finishing 4th and celebrating like they've won the league.
