David Cameron urges internet firms to block child abuse images

Back to the 70's then, skulking out the Private Shop during the lunch hour (except they've closed down because it's all online...), or buying a dodgy video on the Continent and trying not to look too shifty walking through Customs.

Hasten to add, none of the above from personal experience of course...

Seriously, while I agree there should be zero tolerance to kiddie stuff, plus bestiality and anything that ain't consensual, in this day and age the Daily Mail readers and latter day Mary Whitehouses need to get over themselves.

Besides the biggest single deterrent visiting such sites (again purely theoretical) is the bigger than even chance of picking up some evil script behind a movie clip as you stream or download it that quietly phishes your cc details and sends them to some Ukrainian crime centre.

Classic Daily Mail.

Dave Cameron is yer typical ****ing politician who cannae set filter on his ****ing router via the routers ****ing options such as a ****ing keyword filter list and ****ing URL filter. What a ****ing ****.

That ****ing Daily Mail paper makes my blood ****ing boil sometimes.

il bet mumsnet is in on this idiocy as well. so god only knows how much will get banned off the bat if it happens

Even they backed off supporting it when enough people explained the multitude of problems with it, e.g. even if it was implemented as it is claimed to be intended to be implemented (which is extremely unlikely - that much power in the hands of an unaccountable group with an agenda will be used) and even if it worked as specified (which is absolutely impossible) it would block access to sex ed, a wide variety of medical knowledge, help for adolescents who are homosexual, etc, etc.

Great ****pot Cameron has been listening to the mumsnet crowd...
I wonder how there going to enforce this, are they going to just block dedicated sites or are they going to blanket ban all photo/video uploading sites.

I really am looking forward to the day i can leave this wretched country

I wonder if well see a rise in rape cases, now that the mentally damaged cant get there thrills from online sources? also its great how were going to push people to teh darker deeper corners of the internet where the disturbing stuff lives.

I also wonder if the hedge fairy is going to make a return :D, I remember the first time a boy in my class brought in the fairies present.

Last week I went through a part of town that I haven't been through in many years and I was rather suprised to see a porn shop still there. Classic blackout frontage and "Adult Shop" sign, straight out of the past. I was tempted to go in and ask them how on earth they managed to stay in business.

I can now filter the Internet to exclude all of the disgusting filth disguised as entertainment, with those scantily clad teen moaners, groaners and grunters each year, yes yes the one which the PM attends in person when he feels the urge. Wimbledon :) (cum on tim/andy/heather 'roger fist' arm motion, that all the best toffs love etc.!)

And I can now filter to exclude all of the stuff at BBC web, like paedogeddon with those self-righteous do-gooders who can't stop kidfiddling? I can't wait!

So, hang on then, I must be able to filter out everything bad from my online experience at the click of a button, and set it to just allow the very best porn known to man/woman, 24/7?

I'm loving how embarrassed people are about having to phone their ISPs asking to have the porn enabled again that they're forecasting the demise of the government.

Seriously?? :/ I had to do this **** on my mobile phone when I got it...

Don't worry about the trillions were in debt we now have put something in place that in reality does absolutely FA, I mean how long will it take someone to google "how to access pron via proxy / TOR" ?

Just this months conservative " we're doing something" promo...

I was only joking. There will always be a way round it anyway.

Some mobile phone providers have a habit of re-restricting sims for adult content on a whim.

Well you're going to get a lot of worried husbands dreading the thought of their wives finding a letter from their ISP saying:

"Dear mr and mrs blogs,

we've re-enabled access to the pron as per your request on ......

much love sky/Bt/[insert ISP here]"

nice big argument waiting to happen there.

Ofcourse if it's as painless as it was for me with three then it's not an issue.
