An overclock on the CPU won't fix things like missing textures, that's something else - drivers, game, possibly faulty graphics card.
Even if reinstalling the drivers and so on fixes the problem I'd still swap it for the 2GB card.
That'll be fine.
While you're waiting make sure your system is stable, check Prime95 runs ok, if possible run memtest86, etc.
Just wondering if there is an nvidia equivalent to these cards? I feel like the driver support will be better. For AAA titles, sure it may not matter they usually great support for both. However, other games tend to be much better suited to nvidia. Maybe I am wrong.
This one.

I've had the 660Ti version of this cooler and it's a amazing card. It's on offer this week too.
Will this card be suited to my current system? and is my 450W PSU enough?
That I don't know, but on your psu being enough it should be fine. It only draws 186watts from the wall being a very power efficient card with 1 6pin.
Like teppic said if you want free games go for amd. If it was me....I could care less for the games. I can get them any time I want. I would go for what you want. If your unsure look at reviews for both cards then make up your mind.
From the looks of it, I like the GTX 660 a lot. I noticed the Ti version is only bit more expensive. Is that suitable for my system and is the difference in performance much?

Due to the restriction by your cpu and that a 660ti would mean shelling out even more money, I'd say you're better off either replacing your card for a 2gb 7850 / swapping for a 660 (non ti) + reading up on overclocking your cpu to get the most out of it. Btw, is the cpu a B3 revision? You can find out by either going into the BIOS or by downloading CPU-Z.
Edit : I just noticed the special deals on the 660ti. As tempting as they are, I feel your going to have to get the cpu to push past 3ghz to make it even half worthwhile. If, however, you'll be upgrading the cpu and mobo in the not too distant future, well, that's a different story.
Yea I understand, I had a feeling that might be the case. The CPU is a G0 version. I had it at 3Ghz, but if you have a look in the first page, then you can see the error message that prime95 threw up. So I have it at stock now, and a little worried of OC'ing it.
I had a GO version, which are normally the best for clocking, though I'm beginning to think that your mobo might be holding back the overclock, as was my case. I don't tend to test my cpu overclocks on Prime95 or some other equivalent. If its stable at desktop or in games, then that should be good enough. That said, I appreciate that you've had what appears to be corruption in games, though that might not be related to the cpu. Keep monitoring the temps with something like Core Temp :

Well, reading up on old threads in the overclocking sub forum will help, or alternatively you could create a new thread. I don't mind admitting that I'm pretty much a greenhorn when it comes to memory settings / timings, so I'm pretty much in the same boat in that regard. As well as the 'possibility' of the mobo holding things back, a stock cooler with that cpu won't help either. That aside, the good news is that with a bit of time spent reading around, you could well have a 3.2ghz - 3.6ghz cpu since you have the GO Q6600.![]()
OK I will try and read up on some old threads. Well I am welcome to any suggestions to the cooler/fan. Any model that does not have the annoying push pin system my stock fan has would be great.
I like the NOctua and Phanteks. I guess I am looking in the Cooling - Heatsinks section. There are some nice looking coolers in the B grade section:I'd look at brands such as BeQuiet, Noctua and Phanteks.
