Businesswoman's £80k Bentley is wrecked at car wash

A marketing executive who left her £80k Bentley at a car wash returned to find it had been accidentally driven into a wall – and wrecked.

Jessica Sawyer, 30, from Bramhall, handed over the keys to the black soft-top convertible valet at the Wash and Shine car wash in Cheetham Hill as she went to work.

But just 15 minutes later she was called by police after the car crashed into a wall in the reception area of the car wash. The collision left the vehicle’s bodywork wrecked to the tune of £48,000 – and also destroyed part of the car wash building.

jesus! I read the title and actually expected it to be really scratched by dodgy dirty sponges and what not. Then I saw the pics and thought that's a little extreme for a dodgy gritty sponge / brush lol!!!

Ermmm loads of people. See loads of really nice cars at my local eastern european car wash. Mercs and beemers are common with the odd aston and porsche making an appearance. Just because they own £80k cars doesn't mean they're not tight people who pay for cheap car washes.

Maybe they'd take it to get it washed while they wait, but letting them have it for the day. No chance.

The insurance has totally paid out, so it's a nothing story?
Short of her being a dope for taking it there anyway. The only real story here is under the table cash in hand jobs that the story only hints at.

I see loads of pretty flash cars in the car wash place just outside cheetham hill. One was even a chromed Audio R8 from memory.

I'm not really sure where else i'd take it to get cleaned if i had a similar car? Are there any "upmarket" car washes around? Which would probably charge 10 times the price.

Is 10 times the price an issue when you own a flashy car like that? A lot of good valets actually come to you, rather than being cheapo run of the mill foreign jobbies.

This place is literally 2 mins down the road from me and is always packed out with luxury cars. There's another car wash right next to Manchester fort which is extremely busy all the time, busier than the one above.

It's only an 80k car, its not that difficult to own in the grand scheme of things, especially if you are Dink or have come into some one off money via inheritance combined with some finance.

Usually people have a lot of money (and therefore nice cars) because they actually have a lot of sense.

Also, Bentleys are great, why are you under the impression that only someone with no sense would buy one?
