Looking forward to this, had a good run last year so hoping I can build on it.. Just need to think of a team name now!

How much? One off or monthly payments? Prizes?
It's up for debate.

I currently do a cash league with mates where the winner gets a huge chunk of the admission and the prize gets smaller where the last place player pays off a big amount. I can't see that working for an online league though.

I suggest an entrance fee sent to an admin at OCUK and then the top 3 share the prize pool.

For example, 20 players want to join. 10GBP entrance fee. That's a 200 quid kitty. First place would get 100 quid, 2nd gets 75 quid and 3rd gets 50 quid. It can all be done using Paypal.

Is it me or have they massively reduced the average prices for defenders and goalkeepers?

Hard to pick a team at the moment, it will be easier nearer the start of the season, can't help but pick 3 Hull City players though(!). Probably a stupid idea, but I don't care, you have to have some cheap players!

I doubt there would be much interest but sometimes I wonder whether a 'budget' league would work where you have only £80m to spend (i.e. you can never let your funds drop under £20m).
With £100m it usually seems to be a case of whether you can pick the right couple of 'budget' players enable splashing out on a luxury player or two (plus of course just plain smart choices and use of transfers) whereas an £80m budget would really push people towards identifying a lot of cheap 'surprises'.

Anyway as for the new season I'm not 100% convinced by my lineup. I always have the dilemna of whether to risk picking players that have a chance of not starting the majority of games - you don't get a lot to go on when there have been changes in management etc.

Pretty happy with my line up. I watched a he'll of a lot of Championship last year, so I think I have a few bargains in there.

I don't have any 'big' players in my team. No Bale, RVP etc. My front 3 is fairly cheap actually, but I'm happy with it.

I missed out on last season. Will sign up to this now

I'd up for this

Off-topic, as a fellow Gooner, Suarez, yay or nay?

Cool, so that's 2 Gooners in for a cash league. Anyone else man enough? ;)

Perhaps:

1st place 100GBP
2nd place 50GBP
3rd place 25GBP
4th place 15GBP
5th place 10GBP

I think that adds up. -.-

Prize winner gets an OCUK Voucher for the value of the win?

If OCUK really wanted to drive people to the forums and webshop they should do an 'official' one with prizes. Something like £5 into the pot for every entrant so the more people enter the bigger the prize. Could mandate that to enter you need to buy something from the shop or be an existing customer as well. Spend at least £5 to be entered?

Why limit the prize to OCUK?

Sure, it's their forum but I would rather just have cash prizes (living abroad) and if you wanted to buy stuff from OCUK, go for it.

Just my opinion, anyway.
