*** The Official Nokia Lumia 620 Thread ***

How does this compare against a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc (Not the Arc S).

Looking to upgrade my phone and tempted by buying one outright and going for a GiffGaff sim possibly.

not read all the thread, but has anyone had any issues with pairing the 620 to a car's bluetooth set?

Mine works perfectly with Fiat/Microsoft Blue & Me. That is for calls only, I can't stream music not sure my car supports its.

I don't think they are available in the UK, all the online stuff seems to come from Germany with a hefty postage fee. I'm in Barcelona just now and even the Nokia shop didn't have them :(

Shame. The black is nice, but its a bit... boring :(

Also, has anyone else found their battery tanks when WiFi is turned off? I've got a battery app that graphs the level over time and there is a serious decline when WiFi is off. I drained a full battery in 9 hours with the phone not being used.

Friend of mine got a 720, but when he connects it up to a Vista or Windows 7, hes not able to use the file explorer to browse files, and he cannot drag and drop things into it, is their a reason for this, I posted this here just as its a busier thread.
On the same machine, mine showed up as normal with my music folders etc and was able to drag and drop content.

I ordered one last night but have a question. Is there a need to use a screen protector or case with this phone? Not seen it mentioned in the thread (or I might have missed it).

Lovely phone and software zom. I dont use a screen protector, i wouldn't bother.. See how you feel after having the 620 a week.

Another noob question! Is it possible (and how) to copy my contacts from my current PAYG Virgin phone to the 620? Not changed my phone in years!

Just switch your Bluetooth on the old device and run the app on the 620. It's called 'transfer my data'. It'll explain what to do. It's easy.

I've had the phone for a couple of weeks now and I really like it, it's a massive step up from what I had before and it suits my needs perfectly. One thing that is annoying though is the battery life. I have to charge it almost every day and I'm only really using it for checking emails and sending texts! I've turned off a lot of the features as per the manual but no difference. Is it always going to be like this or have I got a dodgy battery?

Every day would be normal for most smart phones. The 620 has a smaller battery than most.

520 1430mAh
620 1300mAh
720 2000mAh
820 1650mAh
920 2000mAh

The bigger phones don't last much longer, they are heavier on batteries. Some tests here

Theres talk of a 3rd party battery in this thread.

Doesn't seem to help that much. Usually its certain apps that drain the battery more than others. Especially if they update too often.

You'll get two days at most out of the battery. I only get one with moderate usage. The battery is pretty small as stated above.

I've tried a bigger battery and it doesn't seem to do anything, it still registers as 1430mah in battery apps. I can only assume there's something in the software for recharging that prohibits it?

Do you have an app running in the background - like instant messaging, whatsapp or Kik?
I find these run the phone dry in no time.

Anyone had any microphone issues? I've had a couple of people mention they can't here me very well.

Not sure it if its Orange or the phone.
