Certain Supermarket that I work for has Underpaid Me

He works for tesco though :)

Have a word with your manager, perhaps he hasn't coded the overtime correctly, ask him to see your t&a and that will show all the hours you worked, sit down and get them to show you how the payslip works, ive been at Tesco for 15 years so know all about coding and payslips.

Get them to explain everything and im quite sure that if there in the wrong your entitled to your owed money within 24 hours from the cash office,on the few times mine has been wrong ive always got it within a day.

What if they say "we will put it in the next month wage" I really need that money for bills e.t.c, otherwise I wont have nothing at all in the next week or so. I have never been told that they get money from the cash office, to pay people that havent been paid properly

If you are including hours that you stayed past your normal hours to help get finished then that is not authorised over time so you won't get paid for it.
Tesco dangle "Options Training" to blag staff into staying past there hours to help the slow/lazy ones out or when they are short staffed & not prepared to call anybody else in because it effects there Bonus Percentage, You won't get payed for this though.

You can't really do anything about that.

Your options would either to be to ask Payroll for an advance to cover your hardship, which they either will or won't do.

Alternately you could look at one of those many money lenders if you need to get bills paid. I would imagine there probably isn't any issue using them if you actually pay it off as soon as you get paid.

I had a similar issue some years ago where my tax code suddenly changed one month. HMRC thought I was still working an old job for some reason and that my new current full-time job was just an extra side job, so they massively taxed it. I ended up with less than a quarter of the earnings I expected to get for the month. Was a bit of a nightmare and of course I got the money in the end, but there isn't too much you can do about it at the time.

I also stay behind and help get the job done while everyone goes home, tats a minimum of 30 minutes to 2 hours sometimes. I have calculated Just for my 6 overtime shifts that I stayed back 4 hours in total.
Word of advice having done it many moons ago, do not do this. You'll still only get paid your rota'd shift 99/100 and if you're doing this regularly they'll just expect it even more from you. Retail is not a kind workplace.

Im going to stop this staying behind nonsense

You'll only get appreciated by management, to your face, then when this gets off loaded to their manager they'll make sure they play on it to get more of it from you, it helps them go home on time more than anything. Unless you're looking for progression to a higher role within it, definitely wouldn't bother.

In our place (different supermarket chain), if an employee has been obviously underpaid then they can be given 70% of the difference they are owed as cash (the rest is to account for tax+NI). It's happened to me on 3 occasions, they'll add it in as an IOU on your pay slip and then deduct the same amount again to show you've had it.

My manager and I exchanged some stern words the other day because I'd worked out that there are a good 40 hours free work being done in my store and he was taking the pee out of people. Supposed to have had 6 extra staff to cover the massive uplift in trade over the summer period and he's recruited 1. We've got a good 60-70 hours spare a week yet I was told that I should "expect" not to get all my breaks being a supervisor and "expect" to stay unpaid past closing time to get everything done. Not a chance. Their reasoning is they're allowed 5 hours a week to be distributed at time and a half, yet everyone is maxed out at 39 hours so to get the job done there's pretty much no alternative.

Retail. Pah.

I've had new people say to me "You never stay over do you" I just laugh as I leave.
Another thing I kicked off about is Managers sitting at my dinner table & talking to me about work, I told them in no uncertain terms "I clock off for an hour for my dinner, If you want to chat about work then wait till I clock back on" :p

Shall I go on ? :D

Also tried this one with my manager. It's an hour journey by bus to where I work and if I start at 2 I'll sometimes get there a little earlier, have a bite to eat and a read of the paper etc but he always decides when I turn up is a perfect time to make his 172nd cup of tea of the day and chat to me about work. I told him that I haven't started yet and I'll come and see him when I do, I want to relax and eat my dinner in peace before I start. His reply was "it's my store and I'll do as I like, if you don't want me talking to you then turn up at exactly 2". Nice eh

Well, one **** reply gets another I guess. I wouldn't dream of talking to my boss that way.

That's a fair comment mate but you really have to have worked in the same kind of place to understand the situation.
There are team leaders, section managers, nights managers, day managers & the overall manager. :p

A manager at these places is not like a Boss elsewhere. :)

Hardly, he does it just to be annoying. You have to know the guy. If you had this desperately annoying bloke staring over your shoulder as you're reading the paper yabbering on as you're trying to eat your dinner every single day telling you how he took his dog for a walk or that he's done some token work or something equally as pointless I'm sure you'd get a bit annoyed as well. It's not like I yelled "**** off you berk" in his face, asking not to be bothered when I'm not actually working isn't a big ask.

Bit different in our place, there are 2 people of a higher rank than me and he's one of them.

So true, retail is the devil.:p

So some guy came over for a chat and you bit his head off?

It really isn't as straightforward as you're trying to make it. This guy constantly screws us over and is one of the most annoying, obnoxious people you dare to imagine. A brief chat about football or whatever isn't a problem, talking about work for 20-30 minutes at a time when you're not working grates on me. As working relationships go, ours is strained somewhat. I'd be here all day if i were to explain why.
