Google-Motorola "X Phone" in the 2013 pipeline?

the moto connect thing looks awesome, ive dreamt of a way of using whatsapp on the computer through the device :)

What was the thinking behind this phone? Was the impact meant to be that you can customise the back? Most people use cases! Or is being assembled in murica that important?

I am genuinely gobsmacked at how little this offers. It is an incredibly overpriced HTC one s that listens to you.

Looks great to me, can't wait for a low light camera test! :)

The main issue is...

the verge interview said:
The relationship with Google doesn't help us update phones any faster.

Why would they say that? So basically they're still ****, why can't Google make a Motorola Nexus? :(

And like who talks to their phone (other than making a call) and not look a knob? I'll admit the tech looks good but it's not a deal breaker. I can't see what else it has other than pick the colour of the back?

What this phone (along with the S4 GE and the One GE) will do is influence Samsung and HTC for their next years flagship phones. How? Well, its a clear indication that Stock'ish android is the future. I expect the S5 to have less TW UI and more Stock Android look.

Here's to hoping :)

Maybe the advertising will get people convinced that they need a customised phone rather than a galaxy or iPhone.

I see that they are trying to marry easy to use with "hip/cool", but as a product it only will obly axhieve that with marketing. Any phone model could be made like that/go through that process.

All this made me realise how complete the galaxy s4 is as a phone. I trust samsung more than I trust motorola to get the android 4.3 update out haha, even with touchwiz, I think the s4 is a much better phone.

The funny part is all the tech journalists are trying to hype up the phone whilst all the geeks have scoffed at the price.

The price and release schedule are essentially the problems. If this is sold for £300 off contract in the UK from next week, I would buy it. However the on contract prices in the us make that appear like a pipe dream.

Another "big" phone that is stupidly over hyped, which doesn't deliver in the end

The camera overall & battery life etc. is going to have to be excellent in order to make that price tag attractive!

Love the phone and much rather have it over the GS 4 [assuming camera and battery life is just as good] (don't care about 1080P that much especially when the pixel arrangement on the moto X is RGB), xperia Z but wouldn't pay that price! Although it could just be the networks taking the **** with the prices possibly (i.e. like the nexus 4 situation) and once everything has settled down we might see proper pricing? Is this being sold on the play store and if yes for how much?

Any word if it is even coming out here anyway?

Now to see if what I have been told about the much cheaper version comes true, doubt it if the specs are similar......

Guess I'll flash sense V5 on my S this weekend and hang on till the nexus 5 in November/December or just buy the new nexus 7 in September :(

Well looks like I might be holding on to my S for a little longer! :D

Assuming the price is stupidly high on the play store and/or for here as well.......

EDIT:

I wouldn't worry, pretty much every other android phone is stuck on 4.1.2/4.1.1 as well :o :p Only phones that have 4.2.2 are the new ones that have been released this year :o
