Quakecon 2013!

You still playing QL, Rroff? I haven't touched it for over a year since last catching you online. Tempted but the problem is it always becomes too addictive and I can't afford to risk getting sucked in again, at least, not right now. You were of course beating most of the others when we on the server and you'd pretty much just returned to the game. :D

I've not played in best part of a year either - coming back like that after so many years away I realised how much I need to put into the game to play at the level I'm happy with heh and likewise I just can't afford to get sucked in like that at the moment. I do intend to try and get some casual games now and again tho.

So far he seems to be rambling a lot more than previous years (and don't get me wrong: I enjoy his rambling). It feels like he doesn't have anything concrete to talk about this year so he's just going full steam ahead with anything he can think about.

Still interesting though.

Yeah definitely rambling about the general state of the industry. He did mention at the start that some of the stuff we are actually interested in hearing about is still covered by NDAs but he'll be covering some of the more publicly available information later on - I'm getting the impression in terms of up coming IP revelations its going to be quite a let down.

Compared to every other game he made it was very meh. Just as it was getting good by going to the hell levels, it then crashes you back to Mars and you have to backtrack through levels you already played!!!!!!

That drove me nuts. Wait a minute... I've been here...

I get the impression he'll dodge any Doom 4 questions anyway. If all the stuff about it being scrapped wasn't true he'd have something to show us, if it is true then he's not going to want to talk about how iD screwed it up.

The stuff about his space industry developments was quite a surprise, i didnt realise he was working on that sort of thing.
Not much of anything actually said about anything new as mentioned above, more a sort of group therapy for him to get stuff off his chest :D

His technical knowledge and incite really is incredibly to listen to.

It's just sad that he hasn't really been relevant in the games industry for getting on for a decade.

Didn't watch the stream but I'm surprised how few posts there are in this thread regarding the event. Was it really that dull?
