For anybody that fancies ATC...

http://www.nats.co.uk/careers/atc/

We are always recruiting.

Cracking job if you make it through the application and training.
Do they still have the three strikes and out thing on applications? Applied twice in the past and didn't get past the first stage, but just completed a basic course at another college, curious if it would be worth trying again.

AFAIK you still only get 3 attempts. The recruitment process has changed massively in the last year or 2 though. What does the basic course give you? ADV? ADI?

Gives you nothing other than a background knowledge of ATC, so Met, Nav, Law, ATM, Equiptment and Aircraft Recognition. College runs a seperate ADI course, so will be on that in a few months time hopefully. Shame about the 3 attempts, guess i'll leave it on the back burner for now.

Wait i'm confused, we can post job openings or not?

Company I work for is currently recruiting for a third line technical analyst, too work in a team with me. So you would have to work along side me, haha :D

JOB TITLE: 3rd Line Technical Analyst
DEPARTMENT: Managed Services
HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm
LOCATION: Central London, Client sites with regular travel to other client offices
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
The main responsibilities will be to provide first rate 3rd line desktop, server, application software, and infrastructure support to managed services clients.
This is an excellent opportunity to work for prestigious law firms and would be an ideal role for someone looking to progress their career in IT.

Good knowledge of: Ms Office 2003/2007/2010, Windows XP and 7, Exchange 2003/2010, Windows Server 2003/2008 and SQL 2005/2008
Familiar with legal applications such as: Filesite, InterAction, Workshare, Laserforms and Visualfiles

Pay I think would be market rate. If you have experience in legal IT then definitely send over CV if you don't but still have third line experience or are a smart second line looking too move up then trust me your CV.

Post jobs from your work - this gives people who never hear of said company an opportunity to go for it, but do not do your business here if you're a recruitment agency - as that's against the forum policy.

The company I work for has way too many jobs to list so I posted the main site and it got deleted? Jobs all across the UK, even Amsterdam where the data centre is and even some in Luxembourg and Switzerland too. All sorts of stuff, we have call centres in Livingston, Dunfermline, Newcastle and Stockport. Our main technical base is in Isleworth where we produce TV shows from scratch as well as editing, broadcast technical and nationwide installer possibilities. Check it out:

I get nothing from any applicants unless I specifically give HR your details so I have nothing to gain.

What would people recommend for a Business Management graduate to focus in? I'm happy to work in the UK or Ireland (abroad as well, but I don't have another language apart from a smattering of German), but I have little experience outside of my degree and a few odd and sod jobs. :(

Doing something you feel passionate about makes work less work like, and more fun to go to.

I enjoy eating and making food, I'm now a food product developer.
I came out with a Pharmaceutical Science degree, not really chef / food technologist but what I learnt in my degree allowed me to get a job in the food industry and experience from that allowed me to progress to areas I enjoy most.

Same thing for your Business Management. Is there an area you're passionate about? Gaming? FMCG? If unsure, then look into any 'everyday' industry and find roles where you'll be able to project manage and exercise skills you've learnt from your degree - once you're in, you'll start learning, trained up and finding interest in other departments that ignites your passion and then start your focus there.

Just in case anyone outside of Yorkshire haven't heard, Haribo UK has officially announced a new site a junction down the M62 from Pontefract main site (Castleford).

I can't give too much details but essentially, once the site shell is built, Haribo's own team of electricians, mech and maintainence engineers takes over. Everything is done in house due to trade secrets.

https://www.haribo.com/enGB/careers/careers-at-haribo.html

Apply ASAP, internally it's known to close by 28th November but with the new sites, speculative applications to anything related to the industry will be considered.

New site is expected 2015; between now and then it's training and preparations.

Good luck.
