i did say initial launch

360 was November 22, 2005

Europe has usually always been slightly later due to complications involved apparently, this is why the PS3 launched in europe many months after it's initial release in other regions.

The wii also was November 19, 2006

they have stated this time they are aiming for a worldwide launch so therefore initial launches have tended to be in November therefore November for us.

unless of course they fail to do a worldwide launch.

Yes they have stated they are aiming for a worldwide launch rather than a staggered regional launch like past launches, which meant Europe got it later than USA/Japan.

I doubt any info about missing or stolen ps4's would ever be released. Also I doubt the number would be very high anyway. It's never really been a problem before.

My point being that it's just as likely they'll aim to release in the major markets within a window of several days or a couple of weeks as opposed to hours. Given they've only really stated that it'll be out "This holiday season", we'll have to wait and see. I've no doubt they're aiming for November as that's the ideal time (pre-Christmas rush) but it's not inconceivable that it'd slip into December for the EU as other console launches have in the past, if they need extra time to build stock levels. Better to launch a bit later with more stock available than have it trickling in.

i read somewhere they were aiming for a simultaneous launch this time round.

that's why i think it will be the same day.

in the past the latter has been true and it has been staggered launches but this time round they are targeting europe as a main market, so much they may even launch here first over other markets, which is what i gathered when i read the info.

well if what i read was true, they will definitely launch here first even if stock levels are low and may even hold back the japan launch to do so.

they see europe and usa as their main markets to attack, they see the japanese market as a loyal fanbase who would be willing to wait longer than other markets.

therefore it's reasonable to assume november launch for here, unless the info was wrong or they mess it up as they have done in the past.

:D yeah you sent me lost DVDs whilst I was in college, Christ I've graduated from uni 4 years ago, how time flies eh, I had no idea I'd been part of ocuk that long

That's what I was thinking. They'll want it out - and MS will want the X1 out too - at least a month before christmas. My guess is the consoles will be out by November 20th at the latest. Of course I may be wrong. I'm rarely wrong ;)

I hope so, I'm starting to get the itch to spend the money that I've put aside for both consoles, I don't think it would be too much of an issue if I knew the release dates.

But atm part of my brain is thinking that the money I have could buy a really nice new TV and that I could always save the money again before they come out! :p
