Went for all the toys, so Nav+Half Leather+Rear Sensors, to be honest I wouldn't mind if the car didn't have them as there's not much leather on the upgrade and the nav system is quite slow, it's locked up a few times. Couple of pics from this weekend:
Thanks for the pics Steeps, I def am in the Orange mindset at the moment, wish the local dealer had one - really want to see it in the flesh.
I am not worried about the Nav, but was thinking about the Leather and Rear sensors; though if it's not too much more leather I might skip it, was £1600 extra!! How much more is the rear sensors, do you recall?

Rear sensors have a list price of £315, it's a dealer fit extra. They have brought out a complete leather seat as seen in the TRD which is the same price at £1600 but I think the Alcantara suits the car better.
If buying new deals can be had, Toyota are not selling them as fast as they had hoped and Subaru are getting a larger allocation to get them moving.

£315 isn't bad, be nicer if there was a camera like some of the other European countries get!

The are already many supercharger/turbocharger kits out for it and quite reasonably priced too.

I get what you're saying, but Subaru need something to differentiate the BRZ from the GT86. Otherwise, what's the point?
Isn't the UK not really Subaru's market though? I don't think they ever planned to have the different models directly competing in the same region.
Muffins point is bang on. Its the same with the MX5. Mazda don't make 400bhp versions of it for £lol money, and its a better car because of it. By all means let tuners get hold of it and produce high power semi-official versions, but the core car needs to remain affordable.

There not comparable though, the MX-5 couldn't have been made a powerhouse at launch as it would have caused bother for the RX7, and by the time the RX7 was killed off the MX5 had cemented a legacy as the little car that could and they didn't want to mess with that. The GT86 was designed from the get go to be a modders dream (hence why you can buy the JDM car without wheels/bumpers), we always knew that the would probably be a FI version eventually (hopefully soon now).
It was over a year after the launch of the mk3 Supra before Toyota gave in and turbocharged it, and another three before they swapped the 7M engine for a 1JZ, so the GT86 still has a lot of future left and there's no doubt we will see it get the power it deserves down the line
What? like the way the turbo Supra cost £30k more than the NA? 
They wouldn't need to raise the price that much, but 400BHP would be too much anyway, it only needs a small boost to get the torque/responsiveness up to scratch. Just like the NA Supra did (the Turbo only had an extra 30hp).

Is it pretty sad that one of the niggles that I would actually miss from the GT86 is steering wheel controls? I was genuinely surprised when I was reading about the media system to find it didn't have them.
I mean, I know it's a drivers car, but come on - having to take your hands off the wheel to skip a track? What is this, the middle ages?

While having a job offer is nice, wait until you're secure in the job before making the leap and getting a new car. I can't comment between your choices but I was looking at the same list and had decided the GT86 suited what I wanted from a car better than the others (was between focus and GT86 in the end). I had enough difficulty trying to get a test drive of the GT86 so never got round to trying the others.
I fully agree with the media controls. On my old car they were on the left side of the wheel about 20cm away from the media controls where I thought it was pointless. Now I don't have them it's probably the biggest thing I miss from my old car.

ARGHGHGHGHG I hate this response, it boils my blood. I'm still driving my un-dinged/kerbed/scratched first car and it's been nearly 4 years!
2 years for me, but it is 'normally' the truth, I think if anything if I had a brand spanking new car I would be even more careful with her! let alone the one I have now lol.
I wrote mine off within about 3 months, imagine how you'd feel if it was a 25k car you had just binned? Its bad enough a 1k shed
