Well the majority of mosques have announced Eid for tomorrow and sizeable chunk have announced for Friday, sadly the Muslim Ummah will now start slinging mud at each other claiming they are the righteous and the others are spawn of satan/usa/uk etc etc!

LOL always the same **** every single year, if they cant figure out what day to start fasting then its no surprise they cant figure it out for Eid either:p.

Pretty sure its tomorrow for me, ill be passing by the local mosque later tonight on my way home from work so will find out for sure.

Still hoping Eid is on a friday though, means i can go out fri evening and do the usual Eid runaround with my mums family although shes not here at the moment, shes in Canada with my middle brother and told me last night on skype to go and visit her family for Eid dinner etc. Friday would be best for me as im off Sat so i can hang about longer at my uncles and aunts places rather than rush off home quickly.

Feel for you guys.. the lack of sex must have been harder than the lack of regular food.

Happy explosions

Eid Mubarak brothers. Seems like Ramadan only started yesterday, it's gone very quick this year. I'll miss it, learnt a lot and had a time to reflect upon myself. Working and fasting was very difficult but felt rewarding

Absolutely. But there also mosques which will follow what the their maulvis and pir saabs tell them no matter what the truth is and will oppose the saudis purely out of spite. The saudis are far from perfect but they right the majority of time so I see no issue if people want to follow them. Like I say how is it that certain mosques announced yesterday that eid was definately on friday.

Again, I have no idea how any mosque knew it would definitely be Friday that much in advance. I don't believe there is that much truth in your statement that people simply oppose Saudi out of spite (maybe a few?) because if the moon is there to be seen and is visible, the 'maulvis' and 'pir saabs' won't really have a leg to stand on will they?

My local mosque here waited until after Maghrib, they do not blindly follow Saudi nor do they actively go against Saudi. There was no sighting of the moon here, therefore we will be fasting tomorrow. This doesn't seem to contradict the information from http://moonsighting.com/ nor does it contradict the hadith of the prophet pbuh therefore I am content in fasting another day.

In this age of technology I wonder why Saudi do not simply do a live transmission when they claim they have seen the moon. Maybe they do but I just haven't seen it?

lol at maulvis and pir saabs, don't you know these Pakistani/Indian bazrooks hold the golden key to the gates of paradise? These people dream of white flying horses and are guaranteed Janat al Firdous and for a fiver can give you a taweez to wear around your neck to protect you from Demons and Goblins. If they say Eid is on Friday then by golly it's on Friday!!!

Yes that would be logical. What your mosque has done is fine and also what people in the arab peninsula have done is fine. I think much of the world apart from the indian subcontinent is celebrating today.

ih and bham central mosque put it up on their website that eid is tomorrow, 3 days ago.
