**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Hmm annoying. Just been looking at the T&Cs for using Nectar points on their Enterntainment website. Looks like you have to spent your Nectar points on vouchers specifically for the Entertainment site (maximum of £50 voucher available) and you can only use ONE voucher per transaction :/

Was hoping I could use the £150 of Nectar points i'd collected on my Xbox pre-order.... apparently not :/

Thinking about it, I guess I could do 3 separate transactions.. one for just the console, one with a game and one with some accessories. hmmmmmmm

Just pre-order at the shop. You will get 1000 points (£5) for that.

Anyone with an amp wondering how it'd integrate? Can't see (more hope) it won't be a problem. I can't seem to find much info on it.

Yeah i'm curious. I don't really think the whole "Xbox on" thing is really going to work for me, seeing as i'm not going to be leaving the rest of my kit on (nor will the Xbox be able to magically power it all up!)

Well the Xbox has HDMI pass through the same as my amp does. I am assuming (hoping) that I will run it through the Xbox first then the amp in to the TV. Amp has 4 x HDMI in and 1 x HDMI out. I'm wondering if it has (or will have) Sky integration do I go Sky / XB1 / Amp / TV. Either way it's a lot of cables! :D

It all really hinges on if/when Sky and Virgin decide to offer support for it I guess. I can't see any point in connecting your STB to the Xbox if you still need to use the original interface etc, you might as well just keep the Sky or Virgin box connected directly to your AV receiver. You'll still need to use the original remote at various times anyway.

So, every edition of the console includes a headset. Lol180.

Shown in the unboxing by Major Nelson.

When we say 4K HDMI cable, we mean it. The HDMI cable we’re including is an actual Category 2 HDMI cable, rated for 1080P, 3D and 4K, according to the HDMI 1.4 spec.

The built-in wireless on Xbox 360 just supported single-band A/B/G/N @ 2.4ghz. The Xbox One wireless radio is A/B/G/N, but supports dual-band 2.4ghz and 5ghz frequencies.

The console shown in the video is one of the first production units – less than 20 exist in the world (and yes, this box has the 853mhz GPU).

When you plug a micro-USB cable into the controller for wired gameplay, the internal radio is actually shut off, transmitting data through the wire. You can even use the controller without batteries in this mode.

I read this too: Note: IGN has confirmed with Microsoft that the Chat Headset will be included in every Xbox One and not just the limited-edition Day One versions of the console.

I'm glad they have changed their mind about the headsets. As minor as it is, it was one of the factors that made me want to get a ps4 instead. Hopefully they'll keep listening to what the people want.

Why the power brick again?
This alone is enough to put me off
The one on my original 360 really irritates me and they got rid of it on the later 360's if i'm correct?
Why a step backwards with this?

Who was that idiot dev who said that MS made a mistake by listening to their customers? Since they've started changing things to due listening they are now winning back customers.

I pre-ordered a headset, guess I can cancel that too now. What with Kinect Sports (does anyone have anything official on this?) being put back aswell will be having a lot less of an initial spend.

The newer slim model has the power brick. Isn't it a good thing to reduce heat in the console? I just stick mine out of sight and out of mind. :)

I'm going to have to build an extension to my house to fit the Xbone in. It's HUUUUUUUUGGGE. Kinect might just fit in the attic.
