Google Music

Kills spotify man.
A playlist of music that has 0 differentiation between uploaded music, purchased music and streamed music.
While letting you store any of that music locally on your phone. And access all that music on any device anywhere by just logging into your Google account. Yes plz

BRILLIANT. Loving googles ecosystem now. If they did the same thing with movies and tv shows that would be amazing. Would pay a decent amount as well for it.

Will almost certainly be upgrading my nexus 4 to the 5 and getting the new 10 when it's out (and a couple of chromecasts)

My only issue is playlist migration. I have 4/5 different playlists, one with over 950 tracks. That would take a long time to replicate manually within google music....
 
True....are there no public APIs available for like playlist XML data export import type of thing?

Maybe just start by recreating say your 1 favourite playlist within the 30 day trial and see how it goes
 
Nice. Think I'm going to give this a go. My heavily discounted music unlimited subscription runs out next month. I assume this has the same tracks available as spotify?

Try out the trial and report back, for me at least it feels like Googles library is larger, however only been messing about with it since yesterday.

How are others finding the selection? Better or worse then Spotify?
 
Will try this, the only thing I wish it had would be a 'tidy up' mode where I have music already in my collection it can now get proper data/album art etc. for and just make everything neat!
 
Google Music is no match for Xbox Music I'm afraid

whilst there are pros (like the returned results can all be played) with xbox music, all results are returned including ones unable to stream due to the copyright holder. The good thing about that, is some tracks within the album can be played.

Xbox catalog is significantly bigger

Except you're forgetting about the millions of mobile devices that can make use of Google Music :)
 
Reading around it seems Google Access and Spotify seem to both have access to around 20 million tracks, Xbox Music does indeed seem a bit larger with 30 million.

However Xbox Music doesn't allow you to import any of your own music which seems like a pretty major negative to me?

Plus for those on Android it seems silly to go with Xbox Music. :)
 
Also being able to search or browse for any artist or song, listen to it and instantly start an endless radio station from it is awesome. Again that's any song you've uploaded or don't own.

If you find a song you like enough on the radio, you can just add it to your library, indistinguishable from any of your own uploaded music.
