Muscle building

you could always just get your local junkie to nick it from the supermarkets for you and then pay them a pound to the tenner (not srs).
A MAN stole five blocks of cheese and 12 tins of salmon, a court heard.

Michael Baldwin, 28, of Sherwood Street, Mansfield, took the cheese, valued at £20, from Heron Foods on July 12.

lol at least steal something good!

I nibble on nuts and seeds, particularly pumpkin seeds. 3 or 4 shakes with Banana and pine nuts plus two meals with meats. It works out roughly my daily protein requirement.

Muscle food prices are damn good! Going there next...
I really like the look of musclefoods but it does concern me slightly as to their source and quality. I appreciate your just as blind in the supermarket... Companies sell to make margin and profit, not to offer favours. Just me being sceptical.

It's endorsed by the freedom foods campaign (if that even means anything) and I can attest to the taste and quality. The steaks are a good cut, and the chicken breasts are plump and thick, and definitely no water added to them. The corn fed chicken was delicious (it came from France!) and the pork was thickly cut and smelt very fresh when you opened the pack.

I've used Westin Gourmet and Donald Russell - I'm now trying muscle foods for a bit and so far I have to say they seem competitive. :)

Anyone tried the oats, PB or Cottage cheese from Musclefoods and is any of that worth getting? It seems a little pricey compared to supermarkets...

junkies will steal anything from deodarant and air freshener to meat.

they also usually punt it on in the dodgiest pub in the area, because that is where the alkies pee away all their money and only have a few quid left for food.

was talking to a mate of mine who is a copper and they were in the pub for something else and a junkie came in trying to sell packs of frozen bacon and legs of lamb, which they had just stolen from the farmfoods less than a 30 second walk away. well that's easterhouse for you.

not that i'd trust meat from a junkie though.

also used to be one who came into my old workplace every few months in paisley and had laptops on him, a few other's with mobiles and aftershave sets which RRP £80 for £20.

i'd never buy stolen goods though, it's not worth it.

Looking at musclefoods.com what are people's thoughts on their pre-made meals? The chilli-con-carne ones etc? They say they're made from no 'bad' stuff and tend to be around 400 calories with 40g+ of protein.

I'm pretty lazy when it comes to have to prepare/cook/clean-up meals after work; are these a good alternative (I don't mind paying £3-£4 a pop).

I haven't tried them, but if you're lazy like you say, they look like they do the job. The reviews are helpful for deciding which ones taste good.

1.35 for 15 egg's in lidl.
6.6g protein per egg.
69p for Tuna chunks in brine (about 28g protein per tin)
40p for 500g oats which I know are carbs but have about 12g protein per 100g so good source of low GI carbs and getting protein to help towards protein macros.
40p for 200g cottage cheese which is v high in protein too.
I usually eat the above with salad and chicken, beef and few protein shakes daily makes it very easy and cheap to hit protein goals.

This lad knows how to do it on the cheap! Fish, fish and more fish. Great source and sooo cheap + lots of eggs for breakfast.

On the chicken. Yes the frozen stuff is the bottom line, but I don't see what peoples hang up on it is. It's not like they're are selling you the devils nuts. It's a chicken breast, the difference in which is negligible (i.e. if we were comparing cheap sausages to gourmet/best say, the difference in meat quality AND CONTENT would be great, unlike the breasts so much). Sure, the quality of fresh is far superior, but frozen is still a cheap source of excellent protein. If the taste isn't up to scratch, that is what seasoning is for :)
