**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Looks nice, looking forward to it. Power brick does not bother me I will just stick it behind my speaker out of sight where the 360 one has sat for 8 years...

That's what I do too. The power brick for me is a non-issue, and if anything I see it as a good thing as it'll reduce the internal heat of the console.

Also good news about the chat headset being included. It wasn't something I was overly bothered about, but as I realised I would be needing it for BF4 gameplay online, I'm happy it's now included as it's more money saved.
 
Excellent, I'm very glad they've back tracked on this - good news!! I think most of my reservations on the X1 have now been resolved... I think :) Also since I'm going to be in Oz for the release and the pound is currently destroying the OzDollar since the price announcements, it's only £350 for me :D It's getting cheaper and a better deal for me everyday!
 
Was that Major Nelson in the video? I had no idea what he looked like, I kind of assumed he'd be a lot younger than that. I like him though, he did a good job of showing stuff off and not being too, I don't know, corporate about it. Does that make sense?

I like the way he just brushed the box off onto the floor as well :)

It's looking good, I can't wait to pick one up! I won't be able to get it on launch though so it'll have to wait until next year unfortunately.
 
Yes that Major Nelson, the clue was he said his name at the beginning of the video :p Suprised this is the first time you have seen him though as he seems to have been in all the videos regarding annoucmenent and done other things like the cod blops2 release stuff.

The power brick doesn't bother me but I am suprised that it isn't included in the console. The PS4 in videos seems to be smaller and afaik has the brick inside.
 
Headset is a good thing, as soon as a wireless one comes out ill be grabing one but at least i dont have to buy one in the mean time now,

I really doesnt look that big, im sure it will fit nicely where my blurray player used to be and the PSU can join the other crap under the unit including a 12 port gb switch.

The kinect sensor, is it motorised still? can you mount it above your tv? the probelm i have is like my front surround speaker if i stick it in front of the TV it blocks both the IR port for the remote and the 3D (if i ever used it) so my speaker is above the TV on a shelf and im wondering how i can mount the kinect (assuming it doesnt end up just pointing at the wall under the tv).
 
that cool thing they have done with the power button? iirc the first fat ps3 had that style of on button where you didnt have to press it. cooljack more like right?

Haha, I heard him say it at the start but was just surprised. I probably have seen him before, but didn't know it was him, if that makes sense!

Yup, but that's led me (and others) to have concerns about its heat management. I'm sure it'll be fine, but it's something that over a long period of time could lead to issues, especially considering how hot some power bricks can get.
 
Who here has ordered from ocuk? Ive preordered the ps4 from ocuk. Just wondering why many others have gone to other places. I thought ocuk was the cheapest.

I just hope I get the console at launch ordering from here since they have taken the money for it allready lol.

not quite sure what you mean. When I bought my Vita in-store on release day, their offer was get the Vita for £199 instead of £229 if you bought Uncharted or Fifa for £40. Not amazing but for release day it was about as good as you would get. I bought mine from the shop and used about £150 of nectar points and paid the difference.

Hasn't been a cause for concern with the PS3 though; obviously there was YLoD but that wasn't really related to actual overheating. Even the PSU in the original PS3s was a fraction of the size compared to the current 360 S PSU.
