*****Official Ashes thread*****

A dropped catch from Bresnan and a missed chance from Swann. Just as well, because we're going to need plenty of second chances this innings.

Aussies yet again showing just inept they are at batting, really are terrible so far in this series...other than the OT Test where they went onto making a huge first innings total. But this test, right back at square one.

Odd timing for that comment in the context of their batting so far this test.

Congratulations Watson, you've found a new way of being dismissed at last! :p

Brilliant knock by Rogers, a well earned century. That DRS review is paying dividends. :D

Richie Benaud's in fine form:

All Warner had to do was hit it. Something, to be fair, he struggles with on and off the field #Ashes

Irresponsible of Clarke to walk after smashing it to 1st slip, especially given Broad was involved #Ashes

Also enjoyed this tweet from Gaurav Sethi:

Not out caught behind, not out leg before, why not check not out handling the ball and not out run out too. #Ashes

:D

In other news, England continues to take the **** with a deliberately slow over rate. When are they going to be penalised for this? It's beyond a joke now.

I think you're being over harsh really, Australia bowled 89 overs on day one? but don't forget that on day 2 there was a change of teams in bat and play was suspended for bad light 45 mins before it should have. Had England had those extra 45 mins they would have been in the 80's.
