Am I the only one wondering why these girl smugglers are National News?

Because they could have not done it/been coerced into it? Apparently it happens a lot but the way international relations work means we can't really bomb it about saying no no no give us back out citizens.

Plus one of the girls is Northern Irish which ramps up the media accessibility with her family getting all over the news.

Maybe cause they are from the UK...

EDIT: Actually pingwing she is just a resident in N.Ireland, she carries a Republic of Ireland passport... ;)

Both in Ibiza looking for work, one of them didn't even bother to make any attempt to contact her Parents when over there.

They then both hop on a plane to Peru, with ample opportunity to escape if they were "coerced"

I'd rather have more information before making that assumption but does seem a bit strange - on the face of it there doesn't seem to be much someone could hold over them to prevent them giving it up once on the plane/airport security.

i cannot fathom how people can be so stupid.

ok so i'm sure there's more to come but the move from ibiza to peru is highly dodgy.

could be looking at over 20 years. great decision.

Could be a year before their case even comes to trial.

Least they are young and fit so they should go down well with the other inmates...

Silly wee lassies. I dunno how anyone could be so naive, haven't they seen Brokedown Palace? Terrible film but it should be required viewing before any British woman is allowed to leave the EU lol.

I look forward to Banged Up Abroad having new material in 25 years.

"We were forced to do it" ... Yeah, bet they've never heard that one before.
