can you boil an egg?

You can purchase a 'doofer' as I will call it, that registers the temp of your eggs and shows you when they are soft or hard boiled etc. Now said 'doofer' can be bought, but just get a girl and make it clear how you like your eggs. If she gets it wrong, then do not even THINK about marrying her.

I'm still working on that one, don't rush me

love QWOP, it's so hard

Just poach it. Jeeze.

For reference, bring water to boil (adding salt can help here), boil for 4 minutes I tend to find (medium to large egg - realise the size of the egg will effect the time it takes), take egg out of boiling water and run under cold water immediately to stop the heating process....

If I want properly hard boiled I'll normally do about 8 minutes to guarantee it.

the way i do it:

cold water into pan
put in eggs
as soon as water boils, turn off the hob
the residual heat cooks the egg to the correct softness

(works for me on electric hobs)

Yes this is how you boil an egg.

You only bring it to the boil, you don't keep it there, you then take it out after 2 or three minutes depending on if you want it soft or hard boiled.

Cold water just covering the eggs like your plums in the bath
Full force heat from below ie not in the oven or under the grill
Wait till bubbles appear quite rapidly
Turn off magic source of heat or fire
Leave in the now hot water for 4 minutes
Lift out with spoon not your fingers

One soft boiled egg

Boil the water first, take the egg straight from the fridge then give it about 4 minutes in the pan. 4 mins and it will be fairly runny, 5 mins and it will firm up a fair bit but will still be runny, 6+ minutes and you get hardboiled.

egg straight from fridge = cracked egg...

This is easy.

  • 1 x egg, not from fridge
  • 1 x small pan filled with cold water
  • Place egg in water
  • Put Pan on Hob
  • Max setting for electric, or dial it up for gas
  • For soft boiled, play the first half of a Hardcore Domination match on BLOPS (5 mins)
  • For hard boiled, play an entire match of Hardcore Domination match on BLOPS (where only 2 of the 3 flags have been held throughout most of the match).
  • Eat
  • Enjoy

Don't use an egg straight from the fridge, and don't put an egg (any egg) straight into boiling water. Almost boiling = fine. Boiling = not fine.

Soft boil = Heat on, put egg/s in boiling water, time 10 minutes

Hard boil = Put egg/s in room temp water in a pan, turn on heat, bring to the boil and time 10 minutes

Works every time with large eggs for me.

Eggs: Keep it real. Keep it Free Range! ;) Usually bigger and more tastier ;) My Girlfriend brought back from a farm Massive Large White Eggs - best I have ever tasted!

In a pinch you can always use the friction method - hold the egg in your hand and rub vigorously against a suitably rough surface for 8-10 minutes. I've found the crotch of a pair of jeans and flipping the egg in my hand after 4 minutes works perfectly for soft-boiled - vary your rubbing time as needed.
