**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

It has already been confirmed that he IS an insider and DOES have inside info, at this point it just seems like your dismissing him because you don't like the fact that the info he's leaking is negative stuff about XB1
I'm not dismissing him as such, I'm just always wary of anyone posting "insider info". I'd much rather wait for official word from the people behind the consoles (whether that's MS or Sony) than believe every little rumour I hear.

Seems a list of pretty obvious stuff, nothing in there which is a real scoop, I'd give him more credibility if there was a list of what he's got wrong over the years as well as a comparison. *shrug*.

On the flip side there was a report from an analyst in July that supply chain checks suggested XO was on track to potentially have 2-3X more units available for launch than PS4. It's all just supposition and rumour, say enough things and you're bound to get some right.

As long as I get mine it's all good :)

:p

CBOAT has only got one or two things wrong ever, and they were things that were true but got changed after he leaked them. He only releases info he knows is true. Anyway, i'm not going to convince you guys am I, bored now.

As for that analyst, that is the opposite situation from lots of reports (from the US at least) from store allocations. People who work in various stores like GameStop and people who had just asked employees about the situation all had the same answer. They have been assigned 3 or 4 x as many PS4s as XB1s.

I was just thinking about all the hardware stuff that we've discussed and argued about in here, and how all irrelevant it actually is. We can talk about how the PS4 has a more powerful GPU, the GDDR3 vs GDDR5, or what impact the cloud might have, and it all means nothing. I believe the next gen console "war" will be won the same way they all are - by which console has the better set of games several years down the line. That really is all that matters to us as gamers (or at least, that's what should matter). The PS4 can be more powerful all it wants, but it will mean nothing if the Xbox One has far better games. MS can promote Kinect and the "Cloud" all they want, but that won't mean anything if the PS4 has all the best games.

Either way, I think the next few years should be really interesting for us as gamers, as developers start to really push the new hardware and (hopefully) come up with new gameplay ideas. Roll on the release dates for both consoles.

We discuss specs or power because it's hard facts that we can compare, not opinion. Which system has the best games will be down to opinion really.

Yes for us gamers it's all about the games and that's what I am mega excited about. There's far too much bitching going on about GPU this and CPU that when ultimately none of that really matters. Both consoles are hugely more powerful than we have ever had and the games will look and play better and smoother than ever. Though most of it will end up being re-hashes of current massive selling franchises like CoD and FIFA, for me personally I am really looking forward to seeing what devs do with new ideas and new IP's now that they have more freedom to get their ideas across.

I know, but the consoles aren't out yet so we can't discuss sales or games :p
Very true. Hopefully Gamescom will give us a lot more fun things to talk about :)

As a gamer who tries to like all games though, I hope neither console runs away with the "war" through massive early sales. I think it's better for us as consumers when it's a fairly close battle, as the developers are forced to try harder for our money. I think the last thing we'd all want is a really one sided war which is over before it begins.

I want Microsoft to get trounced in year 1, but only so they try extra hard after that. Kind of like what happened with PS3 last time around

This is interesting:

Former Steam boss Jason Holtman lands at Microsoft

Of course, Holtman's duties could expand beyond just PC gaming as well. Digital distribution is expected to be a major component of the eighth generation of consoles. And while his experience so far has been on the PC side, Microsoft may be looking for Holtman to drive adoption and consumer loyalty of online purchases on the Xbox One in the years to come.

Wonder what salary he's on :)

Our priority is ensuring our customers get the best Xbox One experience the first day it is available. To do that, and in order to meet demand, we have adjusted the number of markets that will receive Xbox One in November to 13 markets, including Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, United States and New Zealand, in November.

We remain committed to launching Xbox One in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, as soon as possible in 2014.

About time those foreign ****'s got shafted for all the rage they have given me in CoD.

:p
