**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

And here is an article which seems to disprove your "rumour"....

Why don't we all wait until the production models are fully tested before we start believing every bit of rumour and heresay we come across?

lol@my rumour

why dont you chill abit and just realise i was sharing info that has a very good chance of being true, if some random dude said that you think i'd bring it up.

I'm very chilled thanks. I'm sharing info that disproves some of the info on the page you linked to. That a problem?

I dont get why Switzerland isnt in the 13 when France and Germany are, if its translation as the rumour goes , seems its basically Dutch speaking countries and Scandinavia thats been delayed, Switzerland just doesnt seem to fit with those...

ps3ud0
Very small market with a chunk of localisation required (although of course French/German covers the language.)?

Well that was my point, if they can release in France/Germany, they can release in Switzerland if it was translation as rumoured

Oh I agree, just sounds like them not hitting the production quotas they wanted - I wonder if this means that Tier 2 countries will be pushed back even further?

You do seem to be incredibly defensive about anything negative mentioned about the xb1.

A little perhaps, if I think people are being negative towards it for no (or the wrong) reason. I would do the same if people were needlessly having a go at the PS4.

lol

why would it be a problem?(in regards to sharing the link)

You tell me, you seemed to have a problem with me posting the link. I was merely disproving some of the info in the thread you linked to. I also suggested perhaps we should wait until the production consoles are tested, rather than believing all the rumours we hear.

Getting away from the arguing, I just read an interesting article on Eurogamer regarding the size of the Xbox and its potential life span....

Our information suggests the Xbox One design is based on an ambitious brief, essentially impossible to test in anything resembling real-life conditions, and so the company played it safe, putting unit reliability first. A highly placed source says that the console has been designed with a ten-year lifecycle in mind and that it is designed to be switched on for that entire period.

Very ambitious. Hopefully it'll turn out to be as quiet as the article suggests.

Well, looks like I won't be getting the Day One edition of Dead Rising 3 any more. Game have the exclusive on the Day One games, and because of that, have decided to charge people £5 more than the RRP. I'm disgusted with that, as they are supposed to cost no extra than the standard versions.

I've emailed my old PR contact at MS to see if he has any thoughts on it. As far as I'm aware, MS said the Day One games would cost the same as the normal editions, so I don't know what they'd make of Game overcharging for them.

SOP for Game really, they somehow manage to secure all these exclusive editions (see The Last of Us, GTA5 etc) despite their shaky financial history, and then artificially increase the price accordingly.

But people pay it, so they've no reason to stop.
