SOP for Game really, they somehow manage to secure all these exclusive editions (see The Last of Us, GTA5 etc) despite their shaky financial history, and then artificially increase the price accordingly.

But people pay it, so they've no reason to stop.
Surely they must agree with publishers to take a smaller cut than normal to secure these exclusives and then charge higher than the publishers rrp to ensure they maintain their normal cut?

At end of day its only us that are losing and lets be honest, who really cares about us? As you said if people lap it up its our own fault this happens aswell as other poor practises...

In some instances I imagine you're right, but in cases like The Last of Us where they were charging £55 for the Ellie Edition and elsewhere was charging £40-45 for the Joel one (which was essentially the same thing), it does seem like Game just use it as an opportunity to extract more money from people.

Another example: The CE of GTA5 is £120 from Game, but £95 from Tesco.

Unfortunately we lose either way. Either we pony up the extra money for the version we want (meaning Game win), or we miss out on the version we want out of principle. Either way, we lose.

Well, looks like I won't be getting the Day One edition of Dead Rising 3 any more. Game have the exclusive on the Day One games, and because of that, have decided to charge people £5 more than the RRP. I'm disgusted with that, as they are supposed to cost no extra than the standard versions.

Makes you wonder why Game went bust in the first place,eh?

It doesn't look as big as I imagined!

That looks really quite smart, I like that a lot. The Kinect definitely looks nice as well.

I remember describing it as a huge glossy box when I first saw it, but the more I see it, the more I prefer it. It seems to be growing on me

But I'm definitely going for the One over the PS4, I play the same games on both, with the only seperation being GT/Forza. But the way GT6 is looking even more dull, FM5 will be getting my money.

You tell me, you seemed to have a problem with me posting the link. I was merely disproving some of the info in the thread you linked to. I also suggested perhaps we should wait until the production consoles are tested, rather than believing all the rumours we hear.

im genuinely interested to know what made you think i had a problem with the link you showed

Bets on the extra port? Looks like display port or USB-B. Hopefully it's display port as they couldn't get HDMI 2.0 in time, I don't wanna have to rebuy the console half way through it's lifecycle to get the outputs it should have in the first place (PS3 DTS-MA bitstream I'm looking at you.)

Me wants it! Looks pretty nice from that photo. I'm still 50/50 about buying one for launch though... can get one for £400. Grrrr! :P
