After weeks of changing this looks like the team im going for to start with.

Mignolet
Cole - Mertasacker - Walker
Hazard (C) - Countinho - Bellamy - Fellani
Dzeko - Giroud - Anelka

SUBS: Myhil,Michu,O`Shea,Blake

Just not super confident in the front three but Dzeko played most of City preseason, Giroud well was him or Podolski, Anelka a gamble but i reckon West Brom will play him often and he is cheap so allows for a stroner midfield/defence.

Fairly close to my initial team.

My usual combination of a little risk with some decent players (hopefully) :-

Cech (v)
Olsson - Jagielka - Ivanovic - Enrique
Coutinho - Navas - Paulinho
Sturridge - Lukaku (c) - Soldado

Subs - rubbish

It's just soo annoying, I pick a player I like, think will do good and then see he is pitted against my striker or vice versa and it just negates the points gained/lost. Grrrr

Your def is relatively expensive. You're better off investing in cheap subs so you can buy expensive fwds at the start of the season then swapping this strategy round come the second half of the season when teams are more cohesive. You could upgrade Anelka if you do this, or Benteke after you've played him for DGW in GW1.

Who are your subs? I'm a fan of buying cheap subs that play regularly.
 
My Subs are cheap - Davis (GK), Baker (DEF), Whittaker (DEF), Colback (MID)

I've swapped Jagielka for Ivanovich at the moment. No doubt I'll change it before tomorrow!

Davis won't play, Baker is doubtful too, Colback will be playing LB so won't make you many points. I'd go Boruc, Demel and Britton for your subs.
 
Not quite sure what you're getting at?

You have to select subs to make up your full squad, they don't attract any points unless you include them in your 11 for the game week. Why would I waste money on them?
 
What happens if one of your first 11 doesn't play though?

Also if they get a regular game, their value can increase meaning you can cash them in, players that don't play can lose value.
 
If one of my first 11 can't play that's generally what I'll use my transfer for.

I get what you're saying around the subs now though, that makes sense :)
 
Like Jokester says, you have some big names from big teams in your squad who will no doubt suffer from rotation (Lukaku + your entire midfield) at some point and won't play. If you have a bunch of subs who are also being rotated/not even chosen regulars you will hurt for zero points in those positions. If Mignolet didn't start for some reason chances are you would get 0 points for your keeper as Davis won't be starting either. I wouldn't neglect your subs, pretty much every top ranking FF player every season has had a subs bench of regular players.

Is anyone chess playing to factor in Suarez return in GW6/7? :D I have my GWs planned to the tee for that git.

Gamble if Henderson is going to start or not but we'll see!
