hi all iv been reading up on some threads to do with 2 gb and 4gb vram being needed for future games running at 1080p 120hz which is my setup, can you please help me decide which version i should get, i just cant decide, especially with battlefield 4 and new game titles coming out

4Gb... Some games already can push upwards of 2Gb memory use and with the release of next generation consoles memory consumption is only going to sky rocket.

The last thing you want to do is end up turning settings down and reducing the resolution just so it can fit into memory.

2gb is fine. Only get more if you play games heavily modded Like Skyrim with all the mods otherwise it's pointless for more then 2gb at 1080p.

From what I've read before, at least with the 6xx series, the Nvidia cards simply didn't have the hardware required to actually USE that 4GB, whereas the ATI cards could (use their full 3GB), because of the higher memory bus size.

2gb should be fine at 1080p for sometime yet imo. But for res of 1440p or higher i wouldn't risk it as its right on the limit at the moment and imo vram usage will go up not down in the coming months/year.

Get the 4Gb card.... You load Skyrim up with a texture mod to emulate high VRAM use that the next generation consoles will more then likely require and the 4Gb does make a difference

If you're buying for BF4, just get a 3GB/384bit 7970 :)

For one screen I wouldn't spend the extra on 4GB, especially when the bandwidth isn't improved.

im going to get an evga 770 2gb and use the step up program when needed, iv heard you also can register your warranty on the website and get a free backplate and 3dmark or something or other, any one have any more info on that, thanks for the input guys :)
