I'm 31 next month, still as far as i see have no hair loss.

My mum made a comment that got me thinking, she said she expected my hair to be gone by now and i'm lucky it hasn't started yet! Shes basing this on the fact that her dad and living brothers (currently 45 and 49) were all bald by their mid 20s. Her eldest brother who died at 30 (going by pics, he died when i was maybe 4) did not have any sign of it yet from what i see though.

Is it purely maternal? My dad has minor grey (maybe like 10%) and has thinned slightly (his hair is not as thick but still all there) but still has a full head at 61, so mostly due to age i guess and his brother (died at 56) was about the same.

Anyone had massive loss after 30?

It's all down to genetics and hormonal balances.

I started receeding in my early 20s, by my late 20s, there was no point in me having haircuts at a barber any more as I could do it myself.

There are no "rules".

Just embrace what you do or don't have, and don't worry about it. Having or not having hair is really a non issue.

I started in early 20's and now at 28 concider myself lucky it hasnt gone any further. Seems to be going round the mowy and leaving it untouched, which is awesome

Into my 30s and not the slightest thinning or even receding at the temples. Can't grow a beard though. Neither situation really bothers me, nor would the reverse.

Both my grandfathers were bald in their 20's so I was always doomed.
I managed to hang on until my mid-30's and now am in my early 40's and pretty thin.

Problem is, my hair now grows in all the places it's not supposed to :p

Like my Father, my Hair just keeps growing fast and always needing a cut. At 41 I guess I am lucky. Always look at your Father to see how things will turn out for you - Its usually a good benchmark ;)

Basically the same as me, 27 at the moment, no signs of receding or thinning. However, I can barely grow any facial hair what so ever, but that suits me just fine.

My hair has always been thin. Even through early teens gelling my hair was a pain.

One day it's going to go bad.

Got thick hair not started thinning yet at 28, my Dad is 60 and he just has a small not bald but very thin patch on the top at the back.

I shave my hair anyway so it doesn't bother me in the slightest :)

I do want to be able to grow a beard though and I can't :( a nice well groomed beard, like Andre Arlovski not some homeless guy beard.

I started shaving my head (to stubble) about 7 years ago, best thing I did to be honest as it's a care free life for my noggin now! My hair loss was slow from about 18 - 28, oddly it seems to have slowed down a lot now I'm in my late 30s.

I have absolutely no idea why people worry about going bald, I'd actually prefer to be completely bald as it'd mean even less work :D

At 24 my hair seems fine so far, it's a bit thin on the crown, which when my hair is longer you notice it but it's been that way since I was 16, I think it's just genetically like that.

My old man still has a full head of thick hair, it's my grandfather(on my mums side) that worries me, he had a bit of hair on the sides and nothing on top.

If it went I'd be lying if I said it wouldn't bother me.
