I didn't say anything about people jumping ship.

I'd just prefer it if the XB1 was out before the PS4.

Considerably more expensive is a relative term I think, especially when you factor in the free Fifa 14 download, and the Kinect as well. To get a comparable PS4, including Fifa 14 and the Playstation Eye, it would actually cost you more. :)

Just playing devil's advocate here, but you know 90% of people who buy the console in the high street will not care about exact contents of the box and relative value.

Price is very important to people. Whilst it is excellent MS have included extra stuff to justify the difference, they now need to advertise these differences in a rational way.

People online will generally buy online anyway (which to date is still less than 1/4 of all console sales, I seem to recall reading a while back).

Have you considered using your week off to spread the gospel about the relative value of the package compared to PS4 instead of playing DR3 ;) (This is a joke!!)

It's 17% (rounded) more expensive. I'd say that's considerable. I know the monetary amount being considerably more expensive is subjective but you only have to look back to PS3/360 to see the effect price can have.

Indeed. I'd rather have my next gen console earlier (have both on pre-order at the mo) but when it comes down to it with working full time, a couple of weeks or so is going to make no difference to me personally.

Yup, MS really need to push the extras in the box in a big way now, I agree on that.

I know it's more expensive, but my point that I made earlier in the thread is that if you're interested in Fifa, and if you're interested in motion gaming, it's actually very good value now. Assuming the PS Eye is £50, to buy the same setup on the Sony side would actually cost you £450, which is £20 more than the same setup on the Xbox side. Again, it all depends on what you're interested in, which is why I said the cost is relative :)
 
I am very torn between them both at the moment! I know eventually I will have both of them as I like some of the Xbox Exclusives, but also need to play whatever naughty dog etc come up with on the PS4!! Was originally all about PS4, especially since I have a vita but I am leaning more towards xbox one now to start off with for FPS and specifically TitanFall

Quite possible. If MS want an early release, I can see them doing everything possible to get as many consoles on the shelves as possible. I suggested a while ago that restricting the release regions could be a way to hold back consoles for the more major countries. I wonder if secretly that's the case?

Seems likely. I bet most of those consoles end up here and in the USA too. Microsoft won't want to lose their hold on those two markets.
