***Official Intel Haswell Thread***

LOL.
I'm definitely considering just jack 1.4v into it.

Might just keep it 4.6GHZ though, I mean I get insane performance from it anyway.
Then try and get a better chip at the 1150 refresh, whatever it may be.

Boy - looks like you struck it lucky in the silicon lottery there, a good chip you have sir. Enjoy.

Mark

It's running 4.4Ghz and the temps are nice and low with 1.15v. More than enough for my needs.

Anything over 4.5Ghz even with low volts the temps shoot up quite a bit.

if it only hits 82c @4.8ghz id keep it at that, and I agree it's not worth a delid

you have a decent chip out of the box

My 4670k is now running perfectly stable at 4.8ghz with 1.28v and a max temp of 82.c under burn test. Normal use it does not top 75.c.

Encode a full length movie with Handbrake for a real life test (and no cheating with QSV or GPU acceleration) ... you have an awesome clocker if it manages stable at that.

also, there is no way there is only a 7 degree difference between normal use and max stress. unless your normal use is running prime blend :P

before i delidded. with the cpu at 4.8 and 1.37. it was hitting 65 max normal use (games etc) but into the 90s with fpu stress only selected on aida etc

Nice and stable at 4.6Ghz, although I'm using 4.4Ghz for 24/7 clock. 10.03 points on Cinebench, Haswell is a monster architecture. Haswell -E is going to be awesome..

Can't believe how good this £55 mobo is :p.

Finally got my haswell setup built, currently reinstalling windows. 4770k and asus maximus formula along with the other parts in sig.

Ooo:D

need to see some benchies, esp the sam green, should manage 2400mhz now though ive seen them go to 2600mhz

whats the board like?

Board is quite nice, very heavy due to the armour shielding on it. Spacing for sli is a bit tighter than the p8 z77. Few little niggles getting it installed due to the screw holes being hard to get at due to the armour. Ive also probably lost the ability to use my xonar DX audio card, unless i can get it jammed between the gpu's, or below the bottom one. Not ideal as it would block air flow. Top most x1 slot is covered by my k2 cooler.

Booted into windows on my old os install to do a quick temp check etc, 32c max at idle, (clu below the cooler). Hopefully get a bit of oc'ing done in the next few days.

Glad to see your up and running bud, you'll just have to do the old boot lace mod to help with the cooling.

How about a couple of photo's as well.:)

Had the exact same issue on my UD3H, the Silver Arrow blocks the top pci-e slot which is annoying. Dont have a multi card setup to it's no biggie but certainly aesthetically not as good. Good temps too so far.

Ill stick up a few pics once ive got everything tidied up a bit. Currently using a shedload of blue extension cables and corsair modular ones. Gonna just revert to the stock black hx 850 ones. Will create a bit less bulk behind the mobo tray. Got the second gpu installed today, temps at idle of 35 and 28c. There is room between the gpu's to fit the audio card, but ill see what the onboard audio is like for a bit. With a slimmer tower cooler, it would fit in the top x1 slot as the k2 is angled at the ends. That or a closed loop watercooling unit would be ok. But tbh for me that would be a downgrade cooling wise. The bios on the board is a bit mind boggling, never seen as many sub menus on a motherboard.

Hi, I got my 4670k to 4.2ghz using stock voltage and then auto set to 1.0875 I think. I could not convince my msi z87 g43 to let me change the multipliers in the bios though, had to use the software. I undid it though because it is already fast enough, I think I'd rather save my OC attempts for later on down the chips hopefully very, very long life.
