As much as I'd like one of the rangemasters budget quite simply won't stretch.

I'm after a 90cm wide electric oven with Gas hobs.
I like the look of the Kenwood CK305 @£500 delivered but was wondering if anyone had purchased anything similar.

Other suggestions welcome, including slightly different width as this is getting chosen before the new kitchen goes in :p

eDIT: Looking at either black or chrome/silver colour

We did without an oven for over a year before we had enough money for our Range, best purchase we made for our kitchen.

Probably doesn't help you much but if you can wait I would.

I used to have a Smeg 90cm elec oven with gas hobs, really nice bit of kit and very reliable. No idea how much it cost as it came with our first house.

I'd second a SMEG electric fan oven with gas hobs. Good oven, good selection of gas rings with solid pan support. I had a 60cm one in my last house and now have a range in the new which is pants in comparison. TBH I'd rather 2 SMEGs than one range.

Pyrolytic ovens cost more than they're worth. Just hire a cleaner to be honest.

Got a neff oven at the moment, it's pretty nice. If you like cooking I think it's well worth investing in really good gear. And to be honest, better to buy an oven worth servicing that'll last you a lifetime.

pyrolytic is a tad too much :p
As is saving and getting a range, getting the kitchen done at the same time aint cheap :(

The smeg ones do look nice, I was after a 90cm one with a wide single oven rather than a range style one with multiple ovens.

That Kenwood is cheap for a reason, the build quality of that compared to a Rangemaster or Smeg is very noticable.

A quick look at a picture of the Kenwood,, it is a single fan in a large cavity, they take an age to warm up, it is a common complaint.

I was put off the Kenwood when I saw the energy rating :p :(

Would still linge a single large oven like altho for around the same Price I can get 2 integrated 60cm ovens.

As I said, one element hits the whole cavity, there are not that good.

We wanted a rangemaster and planned to get one when we did the kitchen but then our current oven died - having spent several thousand on wood flooring getting a range wasnt an option at the time :(

We ended up getting a Leisure 100cm dual fuel range style cooker - very pleased with it, its no rangemaster in terms of material quality and the grill is very awkward to use but has been tip top in the few months we have had it.

Looking at reviews and it came out pretty decent and at 659 from co op was over a grand cheaper than the rangemaster we wanted!

Yeah Im reallya fter a single cavity oven, just think they look far better and tbh I dont think we'll ever use the smaller ovens on the RM.

The 1yr warratny is annoying me tho on something so expensive

Get some Gaggenau appliances. You won't be disappointed. (I realise they won't fit in with the budget).

I must say, the pyrolytic cleaning feature is so convenient. Leave the trays and all in the oven and come back 4 hours later to wipe the ash away.
