i dont think they will use the ps3 as it wont help them sell vita's also you cant take your ps3 outside in the garden or walk around with it.

like i said if it works ok via the internet that will sell a lot of vita's and be a great feature.
 
I like the background ambient sound, Sony have always created 'nice' UIs and this seems no different. Just hope they don't pull an MS and plaster ads all over the place.

I like how they've handled it on the PS3 where there's one "tab" on the XMB that shows ads, but nowhere else. So they're getting the ads out there for those who do want to see them, and those who don't can just not go to it. Would be nice to see them continue with the trend.

Hopefully it's more a sign that they haven't optimised the game quite so well, rather than an indication of what the hardware is capable of. My PC isn't exactly a powerhouse and yet still copes with BF3 on high settings at 1920x1200, so I'm puzzled as to why the consoles seemingly can't.

I'm looking forward to Singstar not being the first thing I see when I turn on the console, more than anything. :D

I foresee ads through the game screen for DLC, which to me is more than fine. The whole Live from Playstation is an ad in itself, just a very welcome form of it IMO.

Im sure theyll have an ad wall as the start up place when the PS4 logins :p. One place for ads that can be ignored after switch on is more than acceptable!

Oh God yes :D I'd no longer have to explain to everyone I couch co-op with why I have that on my XMB. It's a shame that petition to have it purged never went anywhere :(

Yeah, even if it is an ad wall that can be navigated away from I'd be fine with it. Oddly enough there are people out there who actually want the ads displayed (or at least they welcome the ones on Xbox Live because they get more exposure to services and whatnot), but appealing to both by being able to not have to see it all the time would be a nice bonus to the already snazzy looking UI.

That and the "Prepare to seizure" notice annoy me, they're just unnecessary.

It's only European accounts that get the Singstar thing too, pretty sure it doesn't appear on my US account.

I won't mind ads for DLC or even for new "arcade" games. I just don't want adverts for services like netflix and Lovefilm - something I'm not really interested in - being shoved in my face. It's one of the reasons I hate the current Xbox dashboard.
