*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Well they're laptop GPU's from the last generation so they're not going to offer mind blowing performance.

BF4 is a demanding game.

You do realise that a developer could make a Titan struggle at 720p if they really wanted to by pushing effects, only they won't as the pc crowd tends to whinge if their 600 quid gpu is seen to be inferior.

I don't know whats going on..

Everything coming out about next gen seems as clear as mud recently

Respawn has just confirmed that all versions of Titanfall will run on dedicated servers via their own cloud setup.

Titanfall producer Drew McCoy confirmed with VG247 that they are not utilizing Microsoft’s Cloud setup but actually their own. This is good news if the game ever ends up releasing on a Sony console.

I find this very interesting, and somewhat makes me think Cod Ghosts will probably go the same direction.

Yeah thats wierd, why would MS be so integral to Titanfall that the dev says it wont hit the PS4, yet they dont use Azure for the MP backbone...

UPDATE: Respawn has corrected us and confirmed that Titanfall will utilize Microsoft’s cloud servers, not Respawns as previously reported.

Well that was fast.

Yeah I read an interview with some Respawn guy on the Edge website just the other day and he said then that they'd be using MS's servers.

Well done VG247.

Even though ill be getting BF4 on the pc this is kinda worrying reguarding what these consoles can actually do....

From IGN...

"This week at Gamescom, however, I had an opportunity to play Battlefield 4 on a PlayStation 4 development system, and the resulting experience has me worried."

"this week's PS4 demo did not include a full 64-player match or the franchise's beloved vehicular combat. Instead, attendees were treated to a local 16-player match of Domination mode, which limited the play area to a small segment of the game's freshly minted Paracel Storm map"

"But what's more concerning is how the game looks.

From the moment I sat down, I was surprisingly underwhelmed by the visuals. Instead of the crisp, detailed textures I've encountered this week on the PC version or other next-gen shooter titles, Battlefield 4 on PS4 looked soft and muddled. Wall textures looked half-finished, lacking some of the smaller material nuances or 3D variation. Environmental destruction was more extensive than Battlefield 3 and explosions would send larger chunks of buildings into the air, but once again, the particles looked dull. Weapon models looked great at the hip, but as soon as I raised them to look down the iron sights or scopes, imperfections became apparent."

I hope its just running on an early code or something that isn't optimized properly.

heres some Killzone deathmatch footage to help though lol...it looks great
Got to admit I have a soft spot for KZ, love the class play especially with a decent team. Looks good but it looked like they had gamma/brightness a bit too low for my liking...

Would have loved to seen more of the class-specific stuff. Wonder if theyll change the way you spawn...
