**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Games on Xbox 360 I find take up 8gb on average. Realistically we would all like to download and keep all games on a hard drive however its up to you to add 500gb to 1Tb to keep all your games dlc etc downloaded.

I'm going to treat it like Steam where I have hunderds of games available to dl if I want to play them. Mostly I have maximum 10 games installed at any one time on my PC via my Steam library. I don't need all games installed at all times. And even if it does get out of hand I'll go the external HDD route. Hopefully I'll be able to manage it without needing to but 7-10 years is a lot of content!

My only concern with deleting games and then downloading them again later is that my broadband isn't really that fast, only 6MB or so, which means it could take several hours to download games, especially if they're over 8GB in size. Hopefully BT pull their finger out and get my the phone cabinet at the end of the street sorted for fibre so I can get that, as I know my exchange is already done.

Games on average are 8GB because of DVD, it's 9GB I think it can hold? Blu-rays up to 50GB (I don't think any of them can use the higher capacity blu-rays?) and consoles with 8GB Ram, or 5GB usable w/e, I've not kept up on that, but either way, I think games are going to become a lot bigger very quickly! The space is there to use. Max Payne 3 on PC was 30GB? I expect to see games around there if not higher from now on. That's my guess anyway.

If I can sell used games digital I'm totally getting both games digital on release as I can't be bothered to go to the shop and queue lol

I think i read that you can start the download and after a certain point you can start to play the game whilst the rest downloads in the back ground.

EDIT: Confirmed

I feel your pain. 4meg here. No sign of Fibre in the next few years either.

Pre-loading helps a lot, I can leave a console on overnight pre-loading.

Yeah, I know about this, but if the game is 20GB in size it's still going to take a sizeable amount of time to download before I can even start playing part of it. Like Thesnipergecko I'll end up leaving on the console all night so it can download the games overnight and while I'm at work. Not ideal but it'll do until I get a fibre connection.

I have 120mb broadband but I'm kinda half expecting the microsoft servers to be impossibly slow on day one rendering my purchasing efforts obsolete like I tried day one on wii U with much frustration lol. I tried to download mario day one at midnight and waited almost 2 days!!!! (this was after a 90min initial update)

It will be a long time before I move to digital downloads as there's no sign of my exchange being upgraded any time soon. Imagine having Xbone on day one and having to wait all day for something to download.. I know there's the download in the background option but I don't think that works to well, maybe when you're playing a single player gaming but playing online that is bound to affect the performance, especially when you don't have much bandwidth to start with..

I'll get my DLC online but for now I will be sticking to the disc's.

I have a feeling all these day one FIFA 14 digital downloads are going to take ages just because everyone will be downloading it.
Aye, I'll just download it overnight and I'll play something like Dead Rising or Watch Dogs instead. I actually have no idea what I'll play when I first get the console. I do know that the first evening I have it, I'll be playing Lego Marvel Super Heroes as the wife is buying that, so there's no way she won't want to play it. Fine by me, the game looks loads of fun :D
